Malik Hawkins Remains Undefeated With Win In Philadelphia!

On the Hard Hitting Promotions card, Baltimore, MD welterweight Malik "Iceman" Hawkins defeated Gledwin Ortiz of The Bronx, NY by eight-round unanimous decision at The Met in Philadelphia, PA.


It was a action packed fight from start to finish as Ortiz came out in the opening round to land good shots on Hawkins. Hawkins stepped up his offense quickly to come back and land some good body and head shots on Ortiz. Both fighters were countering off of each other throughout the first six rounds. Hawkins seemed to pull away in the final two rounds by being the more active fighter, and closing the rounds strong. All three judges scored the contest for Hawkins, 77-75, 78-74, and 79-73.

Hawkins improves to (14-0, 9 KO's) while Ortiz falls to (6-3, 5 KO's).

Malik Hawkins Hits The Scale In Philadelphia!

Baltimore welterweight Malik "Iceman" Hawkins weighed in at 144.6 pounds in preparation for his eight-round contest against Gledwin Ortiz of The Bronx, NY, who weighed in at 146.3 pounds.


Hawkins and Ortiz will face each other on the Hard Hitting Promotions card tomorrow night inside The Met Philadelphia located in Philadelphia,PA.


Hawkins (13-0, 9 KO's) last bout was close to a year ago where he comes off a 10-round unanimous decision over Raymond Serrano on March 30th at the Fillmore in Philadelphia. Ortiz (6-2, 5 KO's) scored a first-round knockout over Kieran Hooks on November 16th of 2018 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

Mike Balogun Scores First Round KO In West Virginia!



On Saturday night, February 16th inside the Mountaineer Casino Ballroom in New Cumberland, West Virginia, Upper Marlboro, MD heavyweight Mike "Silverback" Balogun won by knockout at 1:00 of the first-round over Danny Calhoun of Chicago, Illinois.

Balogun remains undefeated at (12-0, 9 KO's) while Calhoun (6-5, 3KO's).

Dusty Hernandez-Harrison was supposed to make his return to the ring on this card, but his opponent failed to show up.

Also on the card was another local area boxer, Suitland, MD super welterweight Lenwood "Mr. Composure" Dozier battled Daniel "Feel Good Hollywood" Rosenberger of Youngstown, OH to a four-round draw.

Local Amateur Boxer And Coach Honored At Washington Pigskin Awards Banquet!




On Friday, February 15, 2019 at the 79 Annual Washington Pigskin Awards Dinner on the campus of Catholic University of America, inside Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, NE, Washington, D.C. nationally ranked amateur boxer Jahmal Harvey and his coach Darrell Davis out of the Oxon Hill boxing gym recieved the 2018 Boxer and Coach Of The Year Awards.
