Marcus Bates Drops Second Chance Bout With Ra'eese Aleem!




Washington DC super bantamweight Marcus Bates world-title cut short tonight on the Showtime Championship Boxing telecast at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.

Ra' eese Aleem of Las Vegas, NV by way of Muskegon, MI gave a championship caliber performance as he out boxed Bates before stopping him at 2:18 in the 10th round of a scheduled 12-round WBA title eliminator bout.
It was an even more difficult fight for Bates as he injured his right hand or wrist during the contest. 

Bates falls to (11-2-1, 8 KO's) while Aleem continues to seek a championship title shot with a record of (17-0, 11 KO's).

Another Washington, DC Area Boxer Focused On Title Shot Opportunity!

Bates Competes In WBA Super Bantamweight Eliminator Bout Saturday In Connecticut !

Washington, DC super bantamweight Marcus "Dreamcrusher" Bates will compete in a 12-round WBA title elimination bout on Saturday, August 1 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT. The bout will be televised live on Showtime.

Bates, who is ranked number seven in the world by the WBA (11-1, eight KO's), will try to avenge his only loss when he faces the undefeated Raeese "The Beast" Aleem of Las Vegas, NV by way of Muskegon, MI (16-0, 10 KO's).

The two met on April 6th, 2018 in Philadelphia, PA and Aleem won an eight-round unanimous decision. Since that contest, Bates has won three bouts in a row while Aleem has won five straight.

Aleem was originally scheduled to face Tramaine Williams in the co-feature but Williams was inserted into the main event against Angelo Leo when Leo's scheduled opponent, Stephen Fulton, tested positive for COVID-19.  Williams and Leo will battle for the vacant WBO Junior Featherweight title.

The card will get underway at 9 PM ET.

Mykal "The Professor" Fox Prepares For 10-round Bout On FS1!

On August 8, Mykal Fox (22-1, 5 KOs), out of Forestville, MD, will take on Lucas Santamaria (10-1-1, 7 KOs), of Garden Grove, California, in a 10-round welterweight bout on FS1.
