Ava Knight Sacrifices A Lot To Fight

In the sport of boxing, the fans always hear the stories behind their favorite fighters. Many of those stories mirror those that people have in their own lives. Some boxers come from a broken home, living with just one parent, or even being raised by parents with drug addictions. All these stories are sad to hear, but in this day and age, much of that is common. Many boxers find comfort in their local gyms, in order to get away from the environment they live in. Then, a trainer begins to take interest in a young competitor, and years later, another boxing star is born.
When fighters say " I live in the gym," that shows their dedication to the sport. They spend hours at a time training hard to become champions. There are many male fighters that work very hard to become champions. With many of those titles, comes big fight purses, sponsorships and other opportunities. With that financial security, the male boxers have the option to give back to the local community, and are able to live the lifestyle the always dreamed of.
On the other end of the boxing spectrum, you have women's boxing. In women's boxing, a lot of the women work regular 9 to 5 jobs, are wives, and mothers. It's very rare that a woman in the sport of boxing make enough money from a fight to say, "Yes boxing pays my bills." It's just not the norm. Why is that? Why is it that women's boxers don't make the money that men's boxers do? They fight for the same titles and have the same weight classes. Yes, they have to market themselves more than a male fighter. It's just a shame that many women in the sport don't have the financial opportunities that the men do. Fighting for title belts in women's boxing would mean even more to them if the money accompanied the championship title.
In women's boxing, the boxers train and fight hard for the love of the sport. Ava Knight, the current IBF Flyweight Champion, comes to mind. When Ava is getting ready for a fight, she literally calls the gym her home. Weeks away from a fight, Ava moves from her home in Chico, California to SFC Gym in San Francisco, her second home. She trains and literally sleeps at the gym. She says there is no other way she would have it. Sleeping at the gym allows her to stay more focused and limit all other distractions. Ava has been offered many times to stay with friends, family, and even by her trainer and manager, Ben Bautista. She turned them all down.
Knight states that she loves the sport of boxing, and has to, in order to do it for the minimum amount of pay she receives. Being the best means more to her than a title belt. In addition to the IBF belt she currently possesses, she covets the WBC belt and all other titles in division. With all the hard work that Ava puts in the gym, she says she just wants the women to be recognized on the same level as men's boxing. Ava Knight puts so much of herself into boxing, and has done it with professionalism and class, that she truly has earned her nickname, "The Lady Of Boxing."

Paul "THE PUNISHER" Williams Message To His Fans
" I feel the love and support from everyone and it's overwhelming, I am very thankful to all my fans and friends who have rallied around me in a time when I need them the most."
Williams was set to likely make a career high payday against the 21 year old Mexican World Champion Canelo Alvarez, but now he is facing a significant recovery time and then countless hours of physical rehabilitation to not only try to recover the use of his legs, but to also adapt to possibly living his daily life partially paralyzed.
