Last night at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA. Gerome "The Showstopper" Quigley defended his Virginia State Welterweight title with a fourth round knockout over Benjamin "Wildcat" Olinga at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.
It took a few rounds for Quigley to get his timing down in this contest scheduled for six rounds. He was coming up short, or missing some punches by just an inch of hitting it's mark. Coming into the fourth round Quigley started to land more accurate shots with his jab to back Olinga up into the corner for a stannding eight count. After that eight count Guigley saw the opportunity to land two hard uppercuts that sent Olinga hitting the canvas with no chance of recovering. Referee Freddy Corritone saw that Olinga was finished and put a stop to the contest at 2:40. Quigley had to fight a little harder to earn the seventh knockout of his career.
Gerome Quigley improves to 8-0, (7 KO's) while Olinga continues to fall with a record of 1-10.

The co-feature on the card was Brandon Quarles also known as "The Pride Of Alexandria VA" taking on Jose Felix of Albuquerque, NM. Quarles didn't have to spend too much time in the ring during this bout. Jose Felix mentioned that this would be the farewell bout of his veteran career, and that it was. Quarles at one time was questioned about his power but no need to question that anymore. Quarles sent Felix to the canvas with a hard, looping overhand right to the head. Felix recovered after the eight count, but it was when Quarles landed the second right hand to the face of Felix that finished the bout. Referee Malik Waleed stopped the contest at 1:46 of the first.
Brandon Quarles is working his way back into the mix with a record of 16-3-1, (8 KO's) while Felix is planning to retire with a 31 fight record of 11-18-2, four KO's.

Super lightweight Cobia "The Soldier" Breedy representing Bridgetown, Barbados did what he was expected to do against Trevon Blizzard of Wilson, NC. It was no need for Breedy to attempt any head shots in this bout. It was all body work from "The Soldier". Once Breedy landed the first body shot he knew it was over for Blizzard. It was seven to eight body shots that ended the bout in only 30 seconds.
Cobia "The Solier" Breedy is now 3-0, (2 KO's) Trevon Blizzard starts his career at 0-1.

"The Uzbek Warrior" Zarifbek Nishanbaev of Arlington, VA was in a little tougher bout for the second fight of his career. In his first bout he was able to stop his opponent in 27 seconds of the first round. This contest was a little different. He was facing Forestville, MD's Norman "The Shadow" Allen. In round one Nishanbaev was throwing all power punches. Allen was finding way to stand in there through the entire round because a lot of those shots were landing. In round two Nishanbaev landed a shot that sent Allen down, but Allen was able to recover. The third round was much different. Nishanbaev starting to settle down and begin to box. He landed a flush right hand to the head of Allen to get the knockout at 44 sec in the third round.

In the fourth bout of the evening it was a solid performance by the former two time kick boxing champion from Rockville, MD. It was the pro debut for super middleweight Francisco Bustos. Bustos was up against the debuting Kashane Sanders of Wilson, NC. Bustos is a fighter that proved he has power. He sent Sanders to the canvas twice in the first round both with solid hard left hands. The bout was stopped at 1:06 of round one.
Francisco Bustos starts his career off at 1-0, (1 KO) while his opponent Kashane Sanders starts at 0-1.

Brian "La Bala" Mendoza of Albuquerque, NM scored a third-round TKO over Donte King of Cambridge, MD in a scheduled four round welterweight contest. Donte King made it a little difficult for Mendoza to find his distance. Mendoza stayed patient and in the third round he landed a right uppercut followed by a left hook that dropped King. King wasn't able to beat the ten count at 1:35 to give Mendoza the victory by knockout.
Mendoza stays undefeated with a record of 6-0, (4 KO's) while King falls to 7-18-2, (3 KO's).

Light heavyweight Eric "The Immortal Man" Govan of Bladensburg, MD was able to score two knockdowns against the debuting Kevin Miller of Lynchburg, VA. Both knockdowns came in the second round because Govan was able to take advantage of the inexperienced Kevin Miller. The bout was put to a halt at 2:45 in the second count.
Eric Govan his record to 4-1, (2 KO's) while Miller starts 0-1.

The opening bout of the Jeter/RBA Promotions card started with a rematch. Light heavyweights Lavarn "Baby Bowe" Harvell of Atlantic City, NJ and Edgar Perez of Chicago, IL faced off in a four round contest. Their first bout was a six rounder with Perez winning by unanimous decision in June of 2014. Perez started the bout by winning the first two rounds, but that was cut short when Harvell was able to land more body shots third round, Those body punches opened up the opportunity for Harvell to land a solid right hand that sent Perez to canvas for the eight count. Harvell was able to win the final round to get the win by unanimous decision. The scores were 40-35 and 39-36 twice.
Lavarn Harvell improves to 14-1, (7 KO's) while Perez falls to 6-15, (3 KO's).
