Malik “Iceman” Hawkins Returns to The Ring on Dec.12th in Baltimore, Maryland!

Malik looks to keep his undefeated record and continue his knockout streak on the undercard of former heavyweight champion Hasim “The Rock” Rahman.

Undefeated welterweight prospect, Malik “Iceman” Hawkins (4-0-4kos) will be returning to his hometown of Baltimore, MD looking to extend his record again as a professional fighter.

Hawkins had a much decorated amateur career where he won multiple national championships along with a pair of golden gloves championships. In the professional ranks he remains undefeated; he has yet to enter the second round of his fights due to scoring all first round knockouts in his contests so far.

Malik continues to show a great power and excitement every time he steps through the ropes. His last fight which was held in North Carolina against Theophulius Newkirk was stopped at the 1:53 of the first round after the referee decided Newkirk was not able to withstand any more punishment.  Malik is eager to fight back at home where, he has a big following of fans who have followed his career since his amateur days.

Malik explained how Baltimore has been through its share of tough times, but now he hopes for better days. “I want to bring life back to the city, cause we been through a lot with all the Freddie Gray stuff. I want kids to know that as long as you grind for something you believe in, you can do it”, said Malik. Malik continues to be positive role model for the inner city youth of Baltimore because he too was once in their shoes trying to find a way to make it. Boxing has been his answer and plans to make the best of it. Malik’s opponent is TBA for this event but he assured fans that he will be ready for whoever is across the ring from him on that day.

The Boxing Renaissance event which will be held on December 12, 2015 at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore, MD will be promoted by SHABAZZ BROTHERS + SHAWSTYLEZ PRODUCTIONS. The card will feature great local up and coming talent along with the return of former heavyweight champion Hasim “The Rock” Rahman in an exhibition match. "Swift" Jarrett Hurd Gets Impressive Win Over Frank Galarza!

Hurd becomes a top prospect that is on his way to becoming a solid Junior Middleweight contender.

Junior Middleweight "Swift" Jarrett Hurd, 25, of  Accokeek, MD had a night to remember at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Hurd battled 30 year old "Notorious" Frank Galarza of Brooklyn, NY. Galarza was considered the favored fighter of the two undefeated coming into this ten round contest.

Galarza opened the contest pressuring Hurd, as he said he would do during his pre-fight interview. He came out using his jab and body shots to push Hurd up against the ropes during the first round. Hurd also started to mix it up with Galarza in the second half of the first round. The younger Hurd changed the tide of the fight by using his jab and moving more often to keep Galarza off balance. In round two Hurd continued to pull away from Galarza by landing his jab and following it up with right hand counter punches. It was pretty much the same for Hurd in the third round.

In round four Hurd started to put together more combinations. The jab seemed to open up more opportunities for Hurd. He was using the jab more to the body of Galarza. Hurd even started using the right hand to open up the guard of Galarza. When Galarza tried to adjust to Hurd's offense Hurd came back with a eight punch combination that ended with a right uppercut to send Galarza down for an eight count. Galarza was never the same after that knockdown. Hurd kept landing the overhand right to continue to weaken Galarza during round five. In round six Hurd started back using his jab consistently. It was the jab that gave Hurd the opening to land another uppercut and overhand right that cause Galarza to turn away and run from the power of Hurd. Referee Russell Mora jumped in and stop the fight by TKO at 59 seconds of round six.

"Swift" Jarrett Hurd keeps his record perfect at 17-0, (11 KO's) while Frank Galarza falls to 17-1-2, (11 KO's).

Mike "Yes Indeed" Reed Puts On A Solid Performance Against Rondale Hubbert!

Super lightweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed of Waldorf, MD put on an  outstanding performance against Rondale Hubbert of  Minneapolis, MN. The bout took place on the undercard of Timothy Bradley vs Brandon Rios at the Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV. This win looked even better for Reed because Hubbert was a late replacement for this scheduled 8 round contest. Reed knew nothing about Hubbert and had no time to prepare for whatever Hubbert had to offer. The original opponent was supposed to be the 25-2-0, (13 KOs) Oscar “Raton” Cortes of Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico.

Throughout the entire bout Reed consistently landed the left hand to slowly break down Hubbert. In round five referee Kenny Bayless had to separate the fighters and Hubbert tried to be aggressive by rushing in on Reed. Reed responded by landing a hard right hook that sent Hubbert to the canvas. Reed's power continues to elevate in every fight. In round seven Reed showed that power once again when he landed a left hand, but this time he was able to put everything into the punch. That triggered referee Kenny Bayless to jump in and stop the fight.

Mike "Yes Indeed" Reed wins by TKO at 1:09 in round seven to improve his record to 17-0, (10 KO's) while Hubbert falls to 10-4-1, (6 KO's). In the year 2015 Reed is now 5-0, (4 KO's).

The Reed bout makes it referee Kenny Bayless second consecutive nights to stop bouts of undefeated Beltway Boxers. On the previous night at the D in Las Vegas, NV Bayless had to stop the Antoine Douglas bout at 1:02 in the forth round giving Douglas a TKO victory.
