Dusty Hernandez-Harrison to Throw Out First Pitch at Nationals vs. Marlins!

Washington, D.C. (September 25, 2014) – This Friday, Washington D.C. native and undefeated Welterweight sensation, Dusty Hernandez-Harrison, will throw out the first pitch for the National League East Champions, Washington Nationals.  The 1:00pm game, the first of a double header for the Nationals, kicks off the final home series for the Nats before the playoffs begin. 

WBC Youth Welterweight World Champion, Hernandez-Harrison (23-0, 12 KO’s), grew up just on the other side of the bridge from where National’s Park stands today.  At just 20 years old, Hernandez-Harrison relates to the dedication and passion that it takes in the aspirations of winning a World Championship.

"I am honored to be stepping on the same field as the Nationals' players because I know what their success means to all of us in the community," said Dusty. 

Hernandez-Harrison's promoter, Jeff Fried of All In Entertainment, noted that "an athlete's competitive side is always present contributing to their elite status in their sport: as Dusty is practicing which of his repertoire of pitches to throw!"

Hernandez-Harrison was originally scheduled to take on Hector Muñoz on September 27 at DAR Constitution Hall for the WBC Continental Americas title; however, due to an ankle injury sustained by Hernandez-Harrison, the championship bout has been rescheduled for later in the fall in Washington, D.C. Also scheduled to compete on the championship boxing card are undefeated welterweight Larry Recio, Baltimore's cruiserweight contender, Venroy July, rising heavyweight, Dwayne McRae and lightweight undefeated sensation, Mykal Fox, among many other exciting boxers from the DMV.  

Gervonta "Tank" Davis Host Public Workout!

In support of the "Bullying Stops Here" program, on September 26, Gervonta Davis, 8-0, (8 KO's) will be having a public workout in the Center Court of Mondawmin Mall in Baltimore, MD. The workout will be from 6pm-8pm. This workout session will show the fans exactly what kind of daily fitness program Gervonta does while being a professional boxer. Some of the routines Davis does goes beyond what some of the average professional boxers do. Gervonta is extremely  athletic and he will share it with his fans that come out to see his workout. This workout is also part of the preparation for his upcoming fight and live television debut on ESPN2 Wednesday, October 8th in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Forestville, MD's Alantex Fox traveled to New York this week.

Fox hit the scale weighing in at 157 lbs. He will be taking on Jonathan Garcia in a six round contest. Garcia weighed in at 156.4 lbs. The bout will take place at Resorts World Casino, in Jamaica, NY.

Fox: "I'm really looking forward to getting back in the ring. It's been over a year now and I'm determined to show everyone what I can do and hopefully impress the fans and everyone at Resorts on Saturday," said Fox. "I never stopped training, even though I've been out of the ring for so long, but come fight night, I'll be 110 percent ready. I never sleep on my opponents, and I know he's a tough guy. I'm just ready to get back on track and fight on a steady schedule to build myself into a contender and title contention."

Lange vs Jeter II Coming Soon!

The 2012 Beltway Boxing Card of the Year took place on October 27 at George Mason University Patriot Center, Fairfax, VA – Jimmy Lange vs. Tony Jeter. The bout was considered to be the largest local fight of 2012. Jeter (17-4-1, 12 KO's) defeated Lange by 10-round split decision despite losing four points on the scorecards. 

Jeter received the 2012 Beltway Boxer of the Year award from both boxingalongthebeltway.blogspot.com and proamfighttalk.blogspot.com.

Jeter, who won his last bout by first-round TKO on April 26 in Annandale, VA, still is ranked in the World Boxing Council rankings at #19. 

Tony Jeter:  “It’s Tony Jeter versus Jimmy Lange again in what we're calling ‘The Rematch. I’m a little surprised that Jimmy wants to get back in the ring with me after the beating he suffered in our first fight. I’m very respectful of Jimmy and what he’s done in the past, and I even have to say I like Jimmy.  However, on November 15th we are not friends, he will be my enemy, and my intention is to win even more convincingly than I did in 2012.  I am training hard and will be ready to put on a great show for all the fans.  I am looking to pick up in the first round of this fight right where I left off in the 10th round of our first fight. ”

Lange (38-5-2, 25 KO's) has not fought since his loss against Jeter.  Jimmy Lange has been recovering from injuries that stopped is activity inside the ring. Lange had two surgeries in 2013 to repair badly torn ligaments in his left elbow. This will be the 16th card that Lange has headlined at the Patriot Center.

The Patriot Center is the location where Lange has packed out for 15 consecutive cards. November15th will be the 16th card that Lange will headline.

Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson Puts WIBA Title On The Line Against Arlene Blencowe!

Tori “Sho Nuff” Nelson will look for her fourth successful title defense when she puts her WIBA welterweight crown on the line against Arlene Blencowe Saturday, September 27 at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.

A three-time world champion, the pound-for-pound ranked Nelson’s professional record is 10-0 with 3 draws and 1 win by knockout. In 2011, she traveled to Trinidad to outpoint Lorissa Rivas for the WBC middleweight title and she’s held the WIBA welterweight crown since September of 2013. The Virginia native most recently outpointed tough Nicole Woods over ten rounds on June 28.

Most in boxing recognize that records can be deceiving. In today’s era, many fighters pile up 20-plus wins against weak opposition. While this looks good on paper, questions definitely arise about how they’d fare against serious opponents. On the contrary, there are some good fighters that face quality foes off the bat but don't have great records; fighters like Arlene Blencowe.

In her professional debut, Blencowe defeated unbeaten Nadine Browne (2-0-1) in a six round match. Two bouts later, she dominated Daniella Smith (12-3) over ten rounds to capture two world titles. In her most recent fight, Blencowe dropped a controversial decision against undefeated Sabrina Ostowari (7-0), who also missed weight for their match. To meet Nelson, she’s traveling more than 10,000 miles from her native Australia and plans to return home with a world title around her waist.

“I believe this will be Tori’s most challenging fight to date,” said James Hogan, CEO of Ponytail Promotions. “Regardless of her pro record, Blencowe is a serious fighter and is tougher than a two dollar steak. A lot of fighters would’ve avoided her because she doesn't have a glossy record, but Tori Nelson is an elite fighter and in order to be the best you've got to take on all challengers.”

Highly-touted Tyriesha “Lady Tiga” Douglas of Baltimore  faces Whitney Gunter in the semi-main event of the evening. Douglas, 5-0 (1 KO), is considered an elite prospect and is tentatively scheduled to fight for a world title in November.

USBU cruiserweight kingpin Travis Reeves, Seth Billups, Alexandru Marin, Larry Pryor, Edgar Torres and Henry Goss will all appear in separate undercard bouts.

Injury to Hernandez-Harrison Causes Postponement of September 27 “Hometown Takeover” Championship Boxing Event

All In Entertainment: Rescheduling of Washington, D.C. Event to be Determined After Undefeated WBC Youth Welterweight Champion Resumes Training

Washington, D.C. (September 17, 2014) – All In Entertainment, Promoter for undefeated welterweight prospect, Dusty Hernandez-Harrison, announced that the September 27 Hometown Takeover Championship Boxing Event scheduled to take place at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. will be postponed following an ankle injury sustained by Hernandez-Harrison.

Jeff Fried of All In Entertainment expressed that the “top priority is always Dusty's health and well-being.  We will know more this week after we receive further medical guidance and see how Dusty is feeling after his first couple of days of training, including sparring."

Hernandez-Harrison’s main event bout with Hector Munoz was to be for the WBC Continental Americas Championship.  Other fighters on the card represented the best of the Washington, D.C. region, including undefeated welterweight Larry Recio, Baltimore's cruiserweight contender, Venroy July, rising heavyweight, Dwayne McRae and lightweight undefeated sensation, Mykal Fox, among many other exciting boxers from the DMV.

“I am really excited about fighting in front of my hometown fans in D.C. The ankle is healing well and I look forward to getting back in the ring." said Hernandez-Harrison.

“It is not so much the ankle injury as it is getting the work in before a championship fight against a guy like Munoz that will keep coming at Dusty for every second of every round," said Hernandez-Harrison’s trainer and father, Buddy Harrison.


“Nothing will be done to compromise Dusty's health. Once we receive medical clearance and Buddy is comfortable with the pre-fight preparation schedule, we can focus on Dusty's next bout," added Fried.
