Dominic "Lights Out" Wade Featured On Showtime ShoBox June 26!

Largo, MD's middleweight Dominic Wade is no stranger to having televised fights. He is one of the Beltway Boxing area's fighters that has made that transition very well. The undefeated Wade (17-0, 12 KO's) is coming off a second-round TKO over Eddie Hunter on December 20 at the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington. 

Wade's next televised bout will be a 10 round contest against the 44-12-1, (18 KO's) and former world champion "King" Sam Soliman of Melbourne, Australia on Friday, June 26. This contest will also be at the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington. 


Anthony Mundine is the only fighter that knocked out Soliman in his 57 fight career. Other than that he has went the distance in 11 of those 12 losses. The veteran Soliman is the former IBF Middleweight champion, but has fought for many other titles during his career. Soliman lost his IBF title on Oct. 8, 2014 in his fight against Jermain Taylor in Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Biloxi, Mississippi. 

This 10 round contest will be aired on Showtime's ShoBox network on June 26.

"The Pride of Alexandria (VA)" Brandon Quarles Returns To Springfield,VA!

The 15-3-1, (7KO;s) middleweight Brandon Quarles has been consistently training week after week waiting for the opportunities to keep competing. He has been fighting locally, up and down the east coast and also he's even fought on televised cards. Televised cards are the cards that every fighter wants to be on. Quarles was given three of those opportunities. Quarles defeated Corey Preston by split decision on HBO on July 9, 2011 in Atlantic City,  lost to Daquan Arnett on Showtime by unanimous decision on Jan. 11, 2013 in CA, and defeated Dennis Sharpe on Comcast by TKO in Washington, DC on Nov, 1, 2014.

BQ:  I learned from since fighting on TV, the reward has to out weigh the risk. Getting back on TV is not the problem, just making a opportunity for myself. When I do go back on the B side, the ball is a little more on my side. I'm still learning so club fights like the one June 6th gives me a chance to work on things. When I do step back on the road there will be know turning back, I'm a fighter! So fighting in someone hometown is never the problem for me, I love the challenge. But now days I'm looking at the Business side of it.. Even with 3 losses I put myself As a prospect and see myself getting a tittle shot. I come to fight & my style is entertaining . My time will come.

Brandon Quarles has three previous bouts that took place at the ABC Sports Complex. One of those bouts is when he won the Virginia State Middleweight title with a first-round TKO over Zain "Tiger" Shah back on Nov. 9, 2013. His next visit will be on June 6th when he takes on Jose Felix 11-17-2, (4KO's) in an eight round contest. Jose Felix isn't new to the Beltway Boxing area. This will be his fifth time back. He has fought Lawrence Jone, Tony Jeter twice and Larry Recio. 

Quarles bout against Jose Felix will be part of the Jeter/RBA promotions card that will feature another VA State Title holder, undefeated welterweight Gerome Quigley  vs Benjamin Olinga as the main event.

Baltimore Boxing To Honor Police During “Blood, Sweat And Tears” Card May 29!

Jake Smith’s Baltimore Boxing Promotions will honor the Baltimore Police Department during a special Olympic style card Friday, May 29 at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD.

During the recent Baltimore Riots, a number of officers were hit with rocks, bricks and others items while attempting to stop violent protests. Overall, more than 100 officers were injured trying to prevent further damage to the city. During the evening, Baltimore Boxing will have a special ceremony honoring the department for their courageous efforts to stop violent protesters.

 

“ Baltimore was a very scary place last month,” said Smith. “I had to shut my gym down and know a lot of people had their businesses destroyed. If it weren’t for the brave men and women in law enforcement, things would’ve been even worse. I commend them for the job they did and honoring them during the card is the least that I can do.”

 

Fast rising heavyweight Sam “Vanilla Gorilla” Crossed returns to the ring less than three weeks after his most recent bout when he defends his East Coast Heavyweight crown in the main event. Crossed, who is turning professional after this fight, has shown tremendous improvement and always gives fans their monies worth. His opponent will be announced shortly.

 

Welterweight Allen Burris looks to continue his hot streak against an opponent TBD in the co-featured bout of the evening and other bouts will be announced shortly.

 

In addition to honoring the policemen and women, Baltimore Boxing is proudly teaming up with Unified Efforts. Since their founding in 2012 by former Baltimore detective Debbie Ramsey, Unified Efforts is a full-service bullying prevention organization that has helped raise awareness throughout the Charm City . To assist with the program, Baltimore Boxing will donate tickets and proceeds from a 50/50 raffle on fight night.

 

“This is going to be our second time working with Unified Efforts,” said Smith. “Debbie has a great heart and it was an excellent experience having her at our card last November. We are very glad to have Debbie and Unified Efforts promoting a great message in association with the fight card. Michael’s Eighth Avenue has been our most popular venue and was sold out for the last card so I advise everybody to purchase their tickets early because this will be a special event for the community."

Gary Antonio Russell Has His Second Bout Scheduled!

Capitol Heights, MD bantamweight Antonio Russell will be in his second bout as a pro on Saturday, May 23 when he faces Brandon Ali Garvin of Philadelphia, PA in a four-round bout at the Agganis Arena on the campus of Boston University in Boston, MA.

Russell won his pro debut on January 31 in Philadelphia, PA with a second-round knockout of Harold Reyes.  Garvin lost his pro debut on April 10 in Melrose, MA when he was stopped in the first round by Marcos Forestal.

Demond "D Best At It" Nicholson Heading To Philadelphia!

Laurel, MD middleweight Demond "D Best At It" Nicholson returns to action in his first scheduled eight-round contest at the Stadium Holiday Inn in Philadelphia, PA on Friday, May 29. Nicholson (12-1, 12 KO's) has won two straight since suffering his only pro loss in November of 2014.  There is no word yet on Nicholson's opponent.
