Gerome "GQ" Quigley has made his own moves to showcase his talent overseas. According to Quigley he has made a deal to fight in Germany.

The Potomac Valley Association had an incredible 2015 so far! They want to keep the momentum going by raising the funds so the kids can stay successful in 2016.

The 2016 Junior Olympic Regional Tournament will be held in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and the Nationals will be held in Dallas Texas. Last year PVA hosted the regional and we had 30 kids in the regional tournament and 11 of those kids made it to the Nationals in West Virginia where we brought home 6 medals.
My wish is to get all of our kids that qualify to attend these tournaments without costing them or their parents a dime. We estimate that it will cost $15,000 to $18,000 to cover the travel and hotels for our kids to go to these events.
So we are putting together many fundraising efforts to raise this money, and I am kickin it off with the RICKY WOMACK HAIRCUT CHALLENGE....if we can raise $1000 by January I will let the PVA members cut my locks off in the ring, also I am personally donating $2 for every lock that is cut off.

GERVONTA “TANK” DAVIS RETURNS ON MAYWEATHER’S UNDERCARD SEPTEMBER 12 IN LAS VEGAS

Baltimore’s rising boxing star will fight Recky Dulay on the Mayweather-Berto undercard at the MGM Grand Garden Arena during Mexican Independence Day Weekend.

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, U.S.A. – On Saturday night, September 12, 2015, super featherweight professional boxer, Gervonta "Tank" Davis (Baltimore, Maryland/11-0-0, 10 KOs) will face Recky “The Terror” Dulay (Philippines/8-1-0, 5 KOs) in an 8 round fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event, Floyd “Money” Mayweather (Las Vegas, Nevada/48-0-0, 26 KOs) will face Andre Berto (Winter Haven, Florida/30-3-0, 23 KOs) in a 12 round championship fight for Mayweather’s WBA and WBC Welterweight titles. Mayweather-Berto is being billed as the last professional fight for Floyd Mayweather. Davis’ fight on September 12 is promoted by Mayweather Promotions, and will take place on the non-televised portion of the Showtime PPV card.

     In his previous fight on May 22, Davis needed just one minute and fifteen seconds to defeat Alberto “Ironman” Mora (Mexico/5-4-0, 1 KO) by TKO at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The fight was scheduled for eight rounds, but Davis landed an uppercut just a few seconds into the fight that floored his opponent. Mora beat the count, but still appeared to be hurt. Davis then backed him up with a body shot, and followed up with a combination that knocked out Mora’s mouthpiece. The referee waived the fight off at 1:15 of Round 1. 

     Gervonta Davis talked about his upcoming fight. He said, "September 12 is the first time I’ll be fighting as a pro in Las Vegas. When I was growing up, I always dreamed that one day I would fight on Floyd Mayweather’s undercard, and now it’s happening. For this fight, my team and I agreed it was time to step up the competition, so that I will be ready when it’s time to fight for a world title. I’ve seen that Dulay is a good fighter, but he hasn’t faced someone like me before. September 12 is one of the biggest boxing weekends of the year. FORMER WORLD CHAMPION LAMONT PETERSON RETURNS TO TAKE ON UNBEATEN OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST FELIX DIAZ JR.

Former world champion Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KOs) will return to the ring near his Washington D.C. home as he takes on 2008 Olympic Gold medalist from the Dominican Republic Felix Diaz Jr. (17-0, 8 KOs) in a 12-round bout on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC on Saturday, October 17 from EagleBank Arena (formerly the Patriot Center) at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. 

The televised co-main event begins at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT and pits Olympic Bronze medalist Andre "The Resurrected" Dirrell (24-2, 16 KOs) against Australia's Blake "Il Capo" Caparello (21-1-1, 6 KOs) in a 10-round super middleweight bout.

"I'm very excited to be back in the ring, especially close to home in Virginia and fighting on NBC," said Peterson. "I'm happy just to be doing what I love to do. I've been in the gym and I've stayed ready so I'm prepared to give the fans the kind of show they deserve."

The 31-year-old Peterson will be fighting just minutes outside of his native Washington D.C. and looks to pick up his fifth career victory in the DC metropolitan area. Discovered as a child by trainer Barry Hunter while homeless on the street with his brother Anthony, Peterson has one of the best rags to riches stories in the sport. A pro since 2004, he owns victories over Victor Manuel Cayo, Kendall Holt and Dierry Jean in addition to the world title winning performance against Amir Khan, which he successfully defended three times.

A two-time Olympian representing the Dominican Republic, Diaz Jr. won a gold medal at his second Olympic games in 2008 in Beijing. Now fighting out of the Bronx, the 31-year-old has slowly increased the level of his competition, as he owns victories over Emmanuel Lartey, Adrian Granados and most recently Gabriel Bracero in a dominating performance on April 11. Now, he will jump to the world-class level as he looks to prove he belongs at the top of the sport when he takes on Peterson.

An amateur standout ßthat won two U.S. Amateur World Championships in addition to his Olympic Bronze medal, the 31-year-old Dirrell looks to work towards another world-title opportunity on October 17. The fighter out of Flint, Michigan holds victories over Arthur Abraham and Curtis Stevens and only has two narrow losses on his resume.

A crafty fighter out of Victoria, Australia won his first 20 pro fights primarily fighting out of his home country. He owns victories over Michael Bolling, Jorge Olivera, Allan Green and previously unbeaten Robert Berridge. The 29-year-old most recently scored a unanimous decision over Affif Belghecham in June and looks to make it three wins in a row on October 17.

Recap Of The King's Promotion Card In Washington, DC!

The King's Promotions Washington, DC debut turned out to be a very good night for the DC boxing area last night on August 28. It was a great matched card filled with five out of town match ups along with six hometown fighters featured on the card.

It was an exciting 10-round main event on Friday night at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC Jonathan Maicelo of North Bergen, NJ fought with the intent of getting his title hopes back. Maicelo outworked Cincinnati, OH's Brandon Bennett throughout the entire bout. Bennett seemed to have his moments but it wasn't enough to win the judges over. Maicelo got the unanimous decision with the scores of 99-91, and 97-93 twice.

In the co-main event of the evening Phil Jackson-Benson looked as if he never lost a fight in his career. The Brooklyn, NY native that currently lives in Landover. MD showed his boxing skills by using his defense to allow the power of his offense to shine.

Jackson-Benson was matched with Jinner Guerrero of Sucumbios Ecuador in a ten round contest. Guerrero came out being aggressive, but that was not a factor for the defense Jackson-Benson used throughout the short contest. Benson opened up the guard of Guerrero by using a powerful left jab that landed repeatedly on Guerrero sending him back into the ropes multiple times. That same jab created the opportunity for Benson to land hard body shots that was able to break Guerrero down and ultimately get Benson the win by TKO at 1:08 of round three.

Phil Jackson-Benson is now 16-2, (15 KO's) and Guerrero falls to 8-6, (4 KO's).

The former 2012 Olympian Jamel "Semper Fi" Herring made easy work of Ariel Vasquez in a scheduled ten round bout. Herring's speed was the key to overpower Vasquez. It was a solid right uppercut that sent Vasquez quickly to the canvas. The accurate jab and body shots from Herring sent Vasquez down in each of the three rounds during this contest.  After the final knockdown the referee put a stop to the bout at 50 sec in round three to give Herring the TKO victory.

Jamel Herring remains undefeated at 13-0, (8 KO's) as Vasquez falls to 12-9-2, (8 KO's)

Demond "DBestAtIt" Nicholson out of Laurel, MD proves to be a great up and coming middleweight. Nicholson faced Antonio Baker of Fayetteville, NC in a eight round bout. Nicholson didn't waste any of his shots on Baker. Every punch that landed was an opportunity that Baker opened up for Nicholson to take advantage of. It was just too much power that landed too often for Baker to handle. Baker was sent to the canvas and was unable to continue in the second round.

Demond Nicholson get the TKO win at 2:59 and improves to 14-1, (14 KO's) and Baker is now 8-13, (4 KO's).

Robert "Playboy" Easter continues to work his way up the lightweight division. Easter defeated the veteran Osumanu Akaba of Accra, Ghana in a scheduled ten round bout. The taller Easter used a mixture of body and head shots to break Akaba down from the opening round. The corner of Easter instructed him to use the jab more often and then go to the body. Easter followed those instructions and was able to land a excellent combination that sent Akaba down to one knee. When Akaba took the knee his corner saw that Easter was landing too many shots their fighter couldn't handle. The bout was stopped at 2:36 of the sixth round giving Easter the win by TKO.

Robert Easter is now 15-0, (12 KO's) while Akaba suffers his ninth lose as he falls to 31-9-1, (25 KO's).

The welterweight David "Day Day" Grayton  out of Washington, DC was able to jump on top of Jose Valderrama of Arecibo, Puerto Rico in a scheduled eight round contest. Grayton was very aggressive from the start of the bout. It was the number of combinations from Grayton that were very effective on Valderrama. Grayton was able to finally establish the correct distance to land some great shots in the final few seconds of the fifth round. Grayton came out in the sixth round and landed more solid shots to send Valderrama down for the final time at 1:42 giving Grayton the TKO in round six.

Grayton is now 12-0, (9 KO's) while Valderrama falls to 4-11, (3KO's).

This was Rameem "Reemo" Martin's first time fighting in front of his hometown in Washington, DC. He was in a six round welterweight bout against Anthony Prescott of Cherry Hill, NJ. Martin came out firing as if he was looking for an early knockout. Prescott is a tough fighter, but the speed and power of Martin seemed to be a little too advanced for him. The only downside for Martin was that he should've done a little more boxing. If Martin would have boxed more maybe it would've created the opportunity for a knockout. Martin was still able to get the unanimous decision with the scores of 59-55, and 60-54 twice.

Martin is now 6-0-1, (3 KO's) while Prescott falls to 5-7-2, (2 KO's).

2008 US Olympian Raynell Williams of Cleveland, OH dominated Jose Miguel Castro of Carolina, Puerto Rico. Williams, the southpaw started off using his speed and a solid right jab to find his needed distance in round one. In round two Williams used that distance to land a right to the body and left to the head that sent Castro down to the canvas. Williams landed another right hand that finished the fight. The bout was stopped at 2:13 in round two giving Williams the TKO victory.

Raynell Williams is now 9-0, (5 KO's) and Castro ends the night at 5-6, (3 KOs).

Hyattsville, MD's lightweight Patrick Harris continues to stay undefeated with a victory over Irving Hernandez of Caguas, Puerto Rico. Harris showed good ring generalship by using some good foot movement to cutoff the ring and keep pressure on Hernandez. Harris was landing some hard right hand shots, but Hernandez was able to counter with a few of his own. It was the pressure from Harris that kept Hernandez in defensive mode the entire night. Harris dominated on all three judges score cards with the scores of 60-54.

Harris move to 7-0, (4 KO's) and Hernandez falls to 3-13-2, (1 KO).

Leo "Young Bam" Hall was tested for the first time when he stepped inside the ring with the always tough Edgar Perez of Carolina, Puerto Rico. Hall was looking for his seventh knockout, but Perez stole that moment from him. Hall was doing everything he needed to do, but Perez stood in there like he's known to do. Perez never hit the canvas and took every shot Hall sent his way. Hall got the hard unanimous decision win with a 60-54 shutout.

Hall is now 7-0, (6 KO's) while Perez is 6-16, (3 KO's).

In the opening bout of the evening, it was Shynggyskhan Tazhibay of Rockville, MD by way of Karaganda, Kazakhstan taking on the debuting Coleman Phelps of Danville, VA. Tazhibay showed great patience as he waited for Phelps to make mistakes. When Phelps made those mistakes Tazhibay capitalized on every one of them. Tazhibay landed a nice right hand that sent Phelps down in the first round. The next round was much of the same for Tazhibay when he lands a solid left to send Phelps down for another eight count. Phelps was able to get up from that shot, but Tazhibay connected with another right hand to finish the bout. The contest was stopped at 1:36 of the second round to give Tazhibay the win by TKO.

Shynggyskhan Tazhibay is now 2-0, (2 KO's) while Phelps starts his professional career 0-1.
