The 2015 Beltway Boxing Awards are coming soon! Gary Williams "Digital" & I feel that the importance of these awards are to show appreciation to the boxers for their dedication and performances throughout the year. The winners of these awards will be based off of the level of competition that made a noticeable impact on their career, depending on the category. That's why some of this years choices are going be looked at very carefully. This flyer shows a perfect example of an outstanding Beltway Boxer.

D'Mitrius Ballard Gets Unanimous Decision In New York!

Super middleweight D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard out of Temple Hills, MD out boxed Fabiano "Pit Bull" Pena of Los Angeles, CA Saturday at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY. Ballard proved to have the better game plan when he was landing very accurate punches and wasn't wasting any. Ballard wins the six-round contest by unanimous decision with scores from judges: Tom Schreck 60-54, John McKaie 60-54, Don Trella 60-54. 

Ballard remains undefeated with a record of 11-0, (7 KO's) while Pena falls to 11-4-1, (8 KO's).

Gervonta "Tank" Davis Wins By Late Ninth Round KO!

 Baltimore, MD lightweight Gervonta "Tank" Davis remains perfect in Las Vegas!

After coming off a third-round TKO over former world champion Cristobal Cruz on October 30 in Orlando, FL Gervonta Davis went into deeper water to get a ninth round knockout over  Luis Sanchez of Cancun, Mexico. 

Davis used less of a jab and more counter left hands to gradually get through the guard of Luis Sanchez. Sanchez tried to step up the pace in the forth round but with 50 seconds left he was met by a solid left uppercut from Davis that sent him to the canvas for the eight count. The knockdown wasn't enough to stop Sanchez from trying to press the action towards Davis, but Davis didn't back down. In the eight round it was Davis that landed the harder shots that seemed to breakdown Sanchez. Coming into the ninth round is when Davis used that same left uppercut to drop Sanchez for the second and final time of the contest. Referee  Kenny Bayless waved the bout off at 2:05 of round nine.

Gervonta Davis stays perfect with a record of 14-0, (13 KO's) while Luis Sanchez falls to 17-5-1, (5 KO's).

D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard Hits The Scale In New York!

Temple Hills, MD super middleweight D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard 10-0, (7KO's) will be in a scheduled six or eight round bout when he takes on Fabiano Pena of Los Angeles, CA 14-3-1, (10 KO's) on Saturday, December 19 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY. 

The undefeated Ballard hit the scale at 169.5 lbs. while his opponent Fabiano "Pit Bull" Peña of Los Angeles, CA came in at 172 lbs.  

This will be a non-televised bout on the WBA Interim Heavyweight title bout between Bryant Jennings and Luis Ortiz.

HEADBANGERS BOXING FAMILY PROVIDES CHRISTMAS FOR A VERY SPECIAL FAMILY!

The HEADBANGERS Boxing Family, HEADBANGERS Promotions, Inc., Anthony and Lamont Peterson, Head Trainer Barry Hunter and a host of others, will provide Christmas once again this year for a very special family. 

WHEN: Saturday, December 19th, 12 noon at the Bald Eagle Boxing Annex 100 Joliet Street S.E. Washington, D.C. 

For the past two years the HEADBANGERS Boxing Family has provided Christmas for families in need. This year they have decided to select one very deserving family, the Foster Family from Maryland.

“For us it is more than just giving back it’s about helping people that deserve to be helped,” said Former IBF Junior Welterweight Champion Lamont Peterson.

HEADBANGERS heard the story on “The Tom Joyner Morning Show” of a young woman Janell Foster who is currently raising seven children, three of her own and four of her sister’s children, while also attending law school.

Her older sister, Keisha went missing earlier this year along with her 4-year-old daughter and infant son.  It turns out that the husband abducted them and later let the children go but tragically murdered the mother. Sadly, after hearing the news Janell’s father went into shock and died later that night of a cardiac arrest. The husband was subsequently convicted of Keisha’s murder a short time later.

Janell was left with the burden of paying for 2 funerals and now raising seven children on her own. This will be the first holiday without her father and her sister – and the kid’s first Christmas without their mom. HEADBANGERS felt more than compelled to help.

They contacted the Foster Family and asked for a wish list for all seven of the children. This coming Saturday, December 19th at the HEADBANGERS Gym, the family will be provided with the entire contents of the wish list.


“HEADBANGERS is not just about boxing it is a way of life” said Barry Hunter, Head Trainer. “We truly believe that we were placed here and put in this situation to help those in need."

Gervonta Davis Fights On Spike TV Friday December 18 In Las Vegas!

Gervonta "Tank" Davis (13-0, 12 KOs) will face Luis Sanchez (17-4-1, 5 KOs) on Friday night, December 18, at the Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The 10-round fight will be televised on Spike TV. 

A highly regarded prospect who won the 2012 National Gloves championship, the 21-year-old Davis has already recorded four stoppage victories in 2015. Most recently, the Baltimore-native stopped former world champion Cristobal Cruz with a vicious combination in their October fight. Now he is challenged by the 23-year-old Sanchez out of Cancun, Mexico, who hopes to give Davis all he can handle on Friday night.

Gervonta Davis said, "I'm excited to be back in the ring and I'm ready to make my Spike TV debut. I've had a good camp and just ready to show the world more of what I can do. Luis Sanchez will definitely bring a challenge, and I know he will try to bring the fight to me. My team has a great game plan in place for this fight. Thank you to all my fans. Mykal "The Professor" Fox Continues To Stay Consistent!

Forestville, Maryland Super Lightweight, Mykal “The Professor” Fox (8-0, 2 KOs) dominates Adam “Bad Boy” Maté (18-7, 11 KOs) of Sopron, Hungary.

In a six-round contest 6'4" Forestville, MD super lightweight Mykal "The Professor" Fox put on another solid performance against Adam "Bad Boy" Mate'. Fox came out and established his jab with ease over the shorter Mate'. Fox used that jab to keep his opponent at a distance where he was able to land combinations at will. Throughout the rounds Fox also started using the jab to go to the body of Mate'. 

Mate' tried to close the distance on Mykal Fox but the footwork of Fox proved to be quicker than Mate' was expecting. Fox showed great boxing ability and ring smarts by turning Mate when necessary to keep him off balance.  

In the fifth and sixth rounds Fox was able to continue breaking down the guard of Mate' in a manner that seemed to frustrate the shorter fighter. The performance that Fox put on gave him the unanimous decision win with all three judges scoring the contest 60-54.

Fox starts his Kings Promotions debut at 8-0, two KO's while Adam Mate' falls to 18-7, 10 KO's.
