DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley Falls Short In 80th Pro Fight To Hank Lundy!

DeMarcus Corley just completed his 80th professional fight but fell short of a victory. He lost by unanimous decision to Hank Lundy with the scores of 78-73, 79-72 twice. 

Corley is now 50-29-1, (28 KO's) while Hank Lundy improves to 29-6-1, (14 KO's).

Hasim Rahman Jr. Remains Undefeated!

Baltimore, MD's heavyweight  Hasim Rahman Jr.  defeated Ronny Hale of Austin, TX by majority decision tonight at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. One judge had the bout even at 38-38 while the other two judges scored it 39-37 and 40-36 for Rahman Jr.. 

Hasim Rahman Jr. remains undefeated at 4-0, (3 KO's) while Ronny Hale falls to 3-11, (3 KO's).

Scott Sigmon Loses To Roy Jones Jr. By Unanimous Decision!

Roy Jones Jr.[49], the former world titles holder at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight, showed his championship winning ways against Scott Sigmon in front of his hometown fans at the Bay Center in Pensacola Florida. The 30-year-old Sigmon of Lynchburg, VA went all ten-rounds, but never was really able to deal with Jones’ hand speed. Even when Sigmon had Jones up against the ropes Jones was able to land shots between the gloves of Sigmon. The bout was scored 98-92 by all three judges.

After the fight, Jones said he entered the bout with a torn bicep. He also stated he would still be willing to fight suspended MMA star Anderson Silva, but otherwise it’s “chapter closed.”

Roy Jones Jr. is 66-9, (47 KO's) and Scott Sigmon is now 30-12-1, (16KO's).

GGG VS CANELO AGREE TO REMATCH!

Gennady Golovkin and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez announced today they will square off in a rematch of their September 2017 draw on May 5. 

HBO BOXING made the official announcement! Location is still yet to be determined. 

The two world class boxers fought to a draw at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, last September.

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady "GGG" Golovkin will step back into the ring to battle it out once again. HBO officially announced on Monday that the rematch will indeed be taking place on May 5, Cinco de Mayo. 

Golovkin (37-0-1) and Alvarez (49-1-2) left fans in shock when their 36-minute match was ruled a draw. The bout itself was as exciting as we all imagined, however, the finish left everyone calling for the inevitable rematch. 

"Of course I want a rematch. Yes, the next fight I want a true fight," Golovkin said immediately after the fight. "I have a couple of ideas [for the rematch]. I want a close fight, Mexican style."

"I think I won eight rounds," Alvarez said. "To be convincing, I felt that I won the fight. Yes, of course, obviously [I want a rematch]. Yes, if the people want it, yes. He did't win, it was a draw. I always said I was going to be a step ahead of him. We'll fight in the second one but I win anyways."

In the official release from HBO announcing the rematch, both fighters expressed excitement over the Cinco de Mayo battle because a second fight is what the fans deserve after the draw in September 2017. Both Golovkin and Alvarez are out to make sure there is no confusion come May 5.

"I am ready to battle Canelo again and am pleased he took this fight," Golovkin said. "This is the fight the fans and the media want. This is the fight boxing deserves."

"I'm delighted to once again participate in one of the most important boxing events in history," Alvarez added. "This second fight is for the benefit and pleasure of all fans who desire to see the best fight the best."

"I didn't agree with the judges' decision last September, but I will ensure that this time there is no doubt for anyone that I am the undisputed middleweight champion of the world," Golovkin said.

"This time, Golovkin won't have any excuses regarding the judges because I'm coming to knock him out," Alvarez said.

Post Fight Comments From Inside The Ring After Spence/Peterson Bout!

I want to thank Lamont," he said. "A lot of guys turned down the fight and he took it like a real warrior and I commend him for that. He's a tough fighter.  He's willing to die in there." 

 Despite earning the win in commanding fashion, Spence still believes he has room to improve. "I still can improve a lot on my defense," said the unbeaten world champion. "I just have to keep perfecting my skills and keep progressing. You're going to see a better Errol Spence next time I get in the ring.

 "Everybody knows I've been waiting on "Some Time" Thurman," said Spence, looking ahead to a possible unification match with WBC and WBA Welterweight World Champion Keith Thurman. "Since I was 15-0 I've been calling this guy out and he keeps making excuses.  Let's get it on.He has two of the belts and we both have big names. It's an easy fight to make and I want it."

 Peterson, who fought valiantly against the younger Spence, respected the decision of his trainer to stop the fight, "If he asks me to fight a million people, I will. If he asks me to stop. I will stop. I will never question his decision. I know he has my best interests at heart."

 "It was really hard, but if you know Lamont, you know he was not going to give up," said trainer Barry Hunter. "I had to stop it. At the end of the day, this is my son right here. There's nothing more valuable than his well-being. If it comes to him or winning, I pick him. I care about him."

Errol Spence Jr. Stops Lamont Peterson To Retain IBF Welterweight Title!

Inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY Errol Spence Jr. defeated Lamont Peterson by TKO one second into the start of the eighth round. Errol Spence Jr. came into this title fight with much respect for the former two division world champion Lamont Peterson. It was youth, power, and pure boxing ability that made the difference in this highly anticipated match-up. 

Spence started the fight using a solid game plan that his team put together. His punch output and placement of punches was the key to the domination of Peterson. Spence landed hard shots to the body and through the guard of Peterson in every round. The shots that Spence landed had bad intentions and showed they had a early effect on Peterson. In round five Spence landed a right hand then followed it with a short left hook behind the glove to knock Peterson down on the canvas for the eight count. Peterson survived the round and came out in the sixth trying to be a little more aggressive, but Spence added some angles and footwork to continue to hurt Peterson even more. After seeing his fighter take too many clean shots coach Barry Hunter put a end to the contest by waving it off. It was the overall power and boxing skills of Spence that made things more difficult for Peterson to win the fight. 

Errol Spence Jr. remains the unbeaten IBF welterweight champion with a record of (23-0, 20 KO's) while the veteran Lamont Peterson is now (35-4-1, 17 KO's).
