According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, Washington, DC native Lamont Peterson's 140 lb WBA title he won against Khan back in December was stripped because of his positive pre-fight drug test. Schaefer and Golden Boy Promotions sent letters to the WBA and IBF requesting that they should rule that bout a no contest. The vacant title will be on the line July 14, 2012 when Amir Khan takes on Danny Garcia. That fight will be televised live on HBO at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
