HBO has highlighted the past few years of Gennady Golovkin becoming boxing's #1 KO fighter right now. The Kazakh powerhouse is a dominating puncher who has both the power and technical skills to make every fighter he has faced look sorely inferior.
He's undefeated, and it's been 20 fights and over 7 years since GGG went the distance in a bout. He had a minor stumble last year when his PPV outing against David Lemieux did not deliver at the box office, but he remains a major figure for HBO.
Golovkin is angling for a Canelo fight later this year. Until then, it's another so called over matched opponent here in former ShoBox fighter Dominic Wade.
Wade is looking forward to the challenge and said he has prepared himself differently in training camp for this bout.
