Jordan White Drops Decision In Laredo, Texas!
DC Bantamweight Jordan White was in a Fox Sports 1 televised swing bout on the undercard where WBC Super Middleweight David Benavidez (18-0, 17 KO's) scored an impressive eighth round KO over former world title challenger Rogelio “Porky” Medina (37-8, 31 KO's) on Saturday night at the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas.
Jordan White suffered his first defeat to Adam Lopez of Glendale, California by unanimous decision with the scores of 60-54, and 59-55 twice on the judges scorecards.
The way the contest was viewed on television White and Lopez looked to have a even first round. In the last minute of round two things changed in Lopez favor. Lopez kept pressing forward landing hard shots to bloody the nose of White in round three. White didn't use the jab as much, but was still able to use his hooks along with uppercuts throughout the closing rounds. White was still able to land shots from time to time, but Lopez kept the pressure up by landing more shots to the head and body of White.
After the bout was over it was told that Jordan White broke his jab hand (left) in the first round. His father/trainer wanted to stop the contest, but it was Jordan that wanted to continue.
White is looking to have surgery scheduled on his hand as soon as possible.
Jordan White falls to (4-1, 3 KO's) while Lopez remains undefeated at (7-0, 3 KO's).
