IBF World junior middleweight champion Swift Jarrett Hurd will be defending his title for the first time against former WBA 154lb champion Austin Trout (30-3, 17 KOs) on September 30.
Hurd (20-0, 14 KOs) beat Tony Harrison by a 9th round knockout on February 25 to claim the vacant IBF World 154lb title at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.
Trout’s last fight took place just over a year ago when he lost a 12 round unanimous decision to Jermall Charlo. Trout gave Charlo a lot of problems going into the second half of that bout to make it a close and very competitive fight.
