In the main-event of the Shobox The New Generation telecast at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas, Shohjahon Ergashev defeated Forestville, MD's Mykal Fox by 10-round unanimous decision.
Ergashev came out in the opening round throwing power shots to pressure Fox early. Ergashev did not make the jab his go to punch to set up any power shots he wanted to throw. Fox used good movement to maintained his usual style of boxing, but he didn't use his jab throughout each round to stop the attack of Ergashev. When Fox did jab he scored. It was plenty of opportunities for Fox to counter off of the power shots that were missed by Ergashev, but Fox didn't always capitalize on those chances. It wasn't a lot of clear, effective punches landing from either fighter, but Ergashev won the contest on all three judges scorecards, 96-94, 98-92 twice.
Fox is now (19-1, 5 KO's) while Ergashev remains undefeated at (16-0, 14 KO's).
