Maurice "Freight Train" Byarm Back Soon
KEEP IT MOVING
Another one of our great local fighters from the DC area will be back in action on June 16, 2012 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Heavyweight Maurice Byarm is looking to get back on track after he suffered his first defeat back on January 21, 2012. Byarm was in the ring with another up and coming heavyweight prospect now 11-0 Bryant Jennings from Philadelphia, PA. Byarm was upset with his performance and said he could have won that fight if he stuck to what he normally did inside the ring. That one loss just showed Byarm how much harder he had to keep training and get ready for his next bout. In this sport in order to be a great fighter you have to know how to take the wins and overcome the losses. Maurice Byarm has a record of 13-1 (9KO's). He is still very much in the hunt with other top contenders for a shot at a Championship.Thursday, May 3, 2012
Corley Gets More Frequent Flyer Miles
DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley arrived in Northern Ireland Monday morning April 30, 2012 for a week of media interviews and to get ready for his next light welterweight fight against 32 year old Paul McCloskey who is 23-1 (12KO's). Corley has very much been awaiting his chance to get back into the ring. His last scheduled fight was supposed to be this past April 7th in St. Maarten against Luis Ernesto Jose was cancelled. Following the cancellation of that fight Corley got the call for the McCloskey fight. McCloskey is a tough fighter but that is nothing new for the hometown fighter. Corley has been in the ring with even tougher fighters such as Floyd Mayweather Jr, Miguel Cotto, Zab Judah, Marcos Maidana, and Devin Alexander. DeMarcus says he is in Ireland to win. That's what he trained for and that is what he wants to keep doing after his January 21, 2012 unanimous decision win over Gabriel Bracero for the NABF Light Welterweight Title.

Alantez "Sly As A Fox" Working and Waiting
With the hopes of getting on the May 19th Paterson vs Khan II fight card, Alantez Fox is still traing hard and waiting for the chance to get his next fight. Fox has the heart of a champion and the hard work habits of one also. Fox has been working out of the Peterson camp getting both Lamont and Anthony ready for their bouts on May 19th in Las Vegas. Fox says he is very honored to be a part of the preparation for the Peterson vs Khan II fight. He says working with Peterson makes him a better fighter and when it's time for him to fight he will be ready for anyone. Fox last fight was in February and he says this layoff is not the pace he wants to be on. He would like to fight at least once a month or every other month. Talking to Alantez Fox he also agrees with the fact of having so many talented fighters in the area it should be more high profile fights in DC.
