Local Amateur Boxers Feed The Homeless In Washington DC!

Diamonds In The Ruff and Sweet Science of Boxing put together a amateur event that started with a successful Meet and Greet Press Conference they held on July 27th at the Dave and Buster's in Capitol Heights, MD.

The second part of the event took place on Friday August 10th, when some of the Beltway Boxing area amateur boxers spent some time to feed the homeless in Washington, DC.

The young men from Diamonds In The Ruff and Headbangers gym served food to the homeless at the Franklin Square Park located on 14th & K St. NW, Washington, DC.

On August 17 one of the young men representing the team from the DMV will be having a media workout. Jermaine Royster of Richmond, VA will have a two hour workout for media and fans starting at 6:30pm.

The highlight of the this experience for the young boxers will be on August 24th. The Summer Boxing Explosion Amateur card will take place at the District Heights Recreation Center located at 2000 Marbury Dr. in District Heights, MD. This card will feature Washington DC., Maryland and Virginia amateurs taking on boxers from Philadelphia.

The weigh-in and faceoff will be on August 23rd at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Capitol Heights, MD. Time will be posted when available or call the phone number on the flyer.

Meet And Greet Set For All Media Outlets Heading Into August 18th Jeter Promotions Card!

On Thursday, August 9th Jeter Promotions will have a Meet and Greet in preparation for the card scheduled for August 18th. The Meet And Greet will take place at the Prime Rib restaurant inside of the Live! Casino in Hanover, MD at 1 PM.

This Meet and Greet will give the media outlets the opportunity to speak with Demond "D'Best At It" Nicholson, who will compete in the main event on the card.  Also, Myke "The Professor" Fox and DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley who will face each other in the co-feature contest and "The Red Comet" Dante Cox, who will be on the card and also is employed at the Casino.  There will be other boxers there taking part in this event.

Antuanne Russell Gets 25 Second Knockout In New York!

Super lightweight Antuanne "The Last" Russell of Capitol Heights, MD needed only 25 seconds to end the fight by knockout against Jose Esquivel of Ciudad Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico Saturday night August 4th at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.  The bout was televised live on FS2 and FOX Deportes.

Antuanne Russell landed a right hook to the head followed by a hard left hook to stomach to send Esquivel that send him to the canvas with a delayed reaction.

Russell remains perfect with a undefeated record of (7-0, 7 KO's). Jose Esquivel falls to (10-8, 2 KO's).

Ponytail Promotions Professional Boxing Card Set For August 4th!

Ponytail Promotions will have their next professional boxing card at Michael and Son Sportsplex at Dulles in Sterling, VA on Saturday, August 4th.

The main event will feature Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson (17-2-3, 2 KO's) in a 10-round bout against Tiffany Woodard (4-11-3, 3 KO's) of Wilson, NC.

On June 22nd Nelson lost a 10-round unanimous decision to Christina Hammer for the WBC and WBO Middleweight championships in Detroit, MI. Also Nelson dropped a 10-round unanimous decision to Claressa Shields for the IBF and WBC Super Middleweight championships on January 12th in Verona, NY. Woodard has faced another Beltway Boxer, Franchon Crews-Dezurn on that same January 12th card in Verona.  Woodard lost a six-round unanimous decision.

In the co-feature Jerry "Slug" Forrest (19-2, 15 KO's) of Newport News, VA will battle Miree "Pink Panther" Coleman (6-4, 4 KO's) of Fayetteville, NC in a 10- round heavyweight contest.

Also on the card, undefeated Ashburn lightweight Seth "Killer B" Billups (10-0, 6 KO's) looks to get in some rounds as he will face veteran Matt Murphy (3-25-3, 2 KO's) of East St. Louis, Illinois in a six-round bout.

Baltimore, MD super featherweight Mack "Papi" Allison IV (7-1-1, 7 KO's) returns to action in a six-round contest against Rynell Griffin (8-38-2, 2 KO's) of Las Vegas, NV.

In a four-round contest, Ashburn middleweight Carlos "Refuse To Lose" Cruz (1-3, 1 KO's) will take on the debuting Ian "The Dancer" Cokley of Fort Washington, MD.

More bouts may be added to this card, which is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM ET.
