In the main event of the Putney Promotions card at the Sphinx Club in Washington, DC, featherweight "The Dark Menace" Tiara Brown of Bladensburg, MD looked very impressive as she won by TKO over Brittany "Pretty Girl" Cruz of Denver, CO.

Brown used her jab in the first round perfectly to dictate the remainder of the bout. In the second-round Brown started to come forward as she landed some hard, crushing body shots on Cruz. One of those hard body shots was followed by a straight left to the head that sent Cruz to the canvas.

Brown controlled the entire fight as she kept the continuous pressure on Cruz. Cruz was showing that she was the battered fighter as Brown landed more body and head shots. In the fifth-round Brown landed a hard left hook to the body that dropped Cruz for the final time. After seeing Cruz on the canvas for the second time in the bout her corner signaled to have the bout stopped. Referee Michelle Myers waived the contest off at 1:49 of the fifth.

Tiara Brown remains undefeated at (5-0, 3 KO's) as Cruz is now (11-10-2, 2 KO's).

In a welterweight co-feature, Kareem "Reemo" Martin of Washinton, DC won a four-round majority decision over Baltimore, MD's Kevin "The Scarecrow" Womack, Jr..

Martin was the more active fighter in the first two rounds as he landed some shots to Womack's head and body. Things changed in the second half of the bout as Womack started to pressure Martin with a more aggressive attack. In the third round Womack staggered Martin with a right hand. As Martin was on wobbly legs and seem to stagger forward, referee Brent Bovell momentarily halted the action. The reason for the pause was unclear, but it looked as if the referee missed the possibility of Martin's glove touching the canvas after being hurt by the punch from Womack.

Judges Wayne Smith and Dave Braslow scored the bout for Martin, 39-37 and 38-37 while judge Manuel Vicens saw the contest a draw at 38-38.

Kareem Martin improves to (10-2-1, 3 KO's) as Kevin Womack is now (8-16-4, 6KO's).

Washington, DC bantamweight Daron "Sweet Tay" Williams won by TKO over Marco Mendoza Chico of Mexico City, Mexico.

Williams put on a great performance by using his speed and footwork to land his perfect jab to control the fight. The crafty Williams, who is a southpaw set up the use of his left hand as he battered the right side of Mendoza's face, leaving it red and swollen. In the fourth, Williams landed a crushing left uppercut that dropped Mendoza to one knee causing him to shake his head meaning he was done. Referee Michelle Myers called the bout off at 2:19 of the fourth round.

Daron Williams remains perfect at (7-0, 4 KO's) while Mendoza drops to (11-8-1, 4 KO's).

Golden Boy Promotions welterweight Cornell "Hitman" Hines won a four-round unanimous decision over Samuel Forjoe of The Bronx, NY.

In this bout Hines used less of a jab and tried to rely on one punch to hurt his opponent. Hines was the more active fighter by being aggressive and coming forward landing some hard shots on Forjoe. Forjoe never had any offense to give Hines problems during any of the rounds. Forjoe's awkward style made it hard for Hines to land any clean shots to get a knockdown or stoppage. All three judges had the bout scored the same at 40-36 for Hines.

Hines goes the distance for the first time and remains undefeated at (3-0, 2 KO's) while Forjoe is still looking for his first win at (0-4).
