The Jeter Promotions card at the Live! Casino in Hanover, MD opened with a four round cruiserweight bout. Washington , DC's Charles Johnson winning by TKO at 2:02 of the third round over the debuting Chester Stewart of Bowie, MD.
Stewart was the taller of the two fighters and used his reach by landing shots to the head and body of Johnson. Johnson was staggered for a short moment in the second round but made a quick recovery to send Stewart to the canvas with a right hand to the head. In the third round Johnson closed the show by dropping Stewart for the final time.
Johnson is now (1-1, 1 KO) while Chester Stewart starts his career off at (0-1).
In the second bout of the evening Zarifbek "ZZZ" Nishanbaev defeated Kevin Womack Jr. by TKO at 2:30 of the forth round.
In this four round super welterweight contest both fighters were landing some good shots on each other. It was in the final round when Nishanbaev landed a crushing right hand to the head of Womack to send down on his back. Womack beat the eight count, but Nishanbaev jumped back on him causing the referee to stop the bout.
Zarfbek Nishanbaev improves to to (5-1, 4 KO's) while Womack is now (8-17-4, 6 KO's).
In a special attraction Live! Casino Hotel employee Dante Cox of Elkridge, MD got a TKO victory over Varon Webb.
Cox and Webb put on a very even contest for the first two rounds. Cox stepped up the pressure in the third round by coming forward and landing some hard shots that hurt Webb to finish the round. Webb's corner say that Webb wasn't able to continue and asked the referee to stop the bout.
Dante Cox is now (3-0, 2 KO's) and Webb is now (0-2).
In a six round middleweight contest Donald Wallace stops Ashton Sykes by TKO at 2:50 of round six.
Wallace was very effective in this bout by using his speed to land counter shots on Sykes. In round three Wallace opened up with some vicious head shots to back Sykes up into the corner. Sykes came back strong in round five to land a few shots of his own. Wallace closed the final round out strong by putting together a solid combination to put Sykes on wobbly legs. Referee Harvey Dock saw enough and waived of the contest.
Donald Wallace improves to (3-1-1, 2 KO's) as Ashton Sykes falls to (2-2).
The rest of the undercard bouts will take place after the televised card which starts at 9pm on the CBS Sports Network.
