Jakub Sowirko of Trenton, NJ defeated Washington DC's Charles Johnson by majority decision in a four-round cruiserweight contest at the Pennsbury Racquet Club in Morrisville, PA.
It was a competitive performance from both fighters but Sowirko edged out Johnson in the third round by landing a shot that severely wobbled Johnson. Johnson didn't go down, but that was the deciding moment of the contest. One judge scored the contest a 38-38 draw while the other two judges scored it 40-36 and 39-37 for Sowirko.
Charles Johnson falls to (1-3, 1 KO) while Jakub Sowirko starts his career at (1 -0).

In the main event of a Hard Hitting Promotions card at The Met in Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD welterweight Malik "Ice Man" Hawkins wins by unanimous decision over Andre Byrd of Jacksonville, FL for the vacant NBA Americas belt.
Hawkins was the stronger puncher throughout the contest. Byrd did a lot of holding when he was able to get close to Hawkins, but in round seven Hawkins landed a shot that caused Byrd to take a knee for an eight count. All three judges scored the contest for Hawkins, 78-74 and 80-71 twice.
Hawkins improves to Hawkins (15-0, 9 KO's) while Byrd falls to (7-7-2, 1 KO).

Silver Spring, MD super featherweight Suliaman Segawa defeated Gadwin Rosa of Ocala, FL by eight-round unanimous decision at The Met in Philadelphia, PA. The report from ringside says that Segawa looked very strong in the early rounds.

The junior lightweight lefty dominated the action throughout, hurting Rosa several times during the fight. Rosa showed plenty of durability, but fell far short on the official cards. Two judges scored it the same at 79-73 while the other judge saw it 80-72.
Segawa improves to (12-2, 4 KO's) as Rosa suffers his first defeat and is now (10-1, 8 KO's).
Emanuel Taylor of Ridgeley, MD lost by ten-round unanimous decision to Shakhram Giyasov of Brooklyn, NY by way of Uzbekistan at the Forum in Inglewood, CA.

2016 Olympic Silver Medalist, Shakhram Giyasov (8-0, 6 KO's), was stretched the distance by veteran Emmanuel Taylor (20-6, 14 KO's) and had to settle for a clear cut unanimous decision to win the vacant WBA International Super Lightweight belt. Giyasov was the far busier fighter but Taylor did have Giyasov wobbled on a couple occasions but Giyasov wisely clenched each time to clear his head. Giyasov, now fighting out of Brooklyn, NY, by way of Uzbekistan, grunted with nearly every power punch and was his own biggest fan in the ring. Taylor finally traded blow for blow in the final round but it was too little too late, rusty perhaps from a two year layoff. Judges scored it 99-91, 97-93 and 99-91 all in favor of Giyasov.
Yesterday both Emanuel Taylor of Ridgeley, MD his opponent Shakram Giyasov of Brooklyn, NY by way of Uzbekistan weighed in the same at 139.6 pounds in preparation for their ten-round jr. welterweight contest tonight, Friday, April 26th at the Forum in Inglewood, CA.
Taylor (20-5, 14 KO's) has not fought since May of 2017 when he lost by fifth-round TKO to Lucas Matthysse in Las Vegas, NV. Giyasov (7-0, 6 KO's) most recent bout was on February 23rd when he beat Edgar Puerta by fifth-round TKO in Tijuana, Mexico.

Waldorf, MD junior welterweight Mike "Yes Indeed" Reed (24-2, 13 KOs) defeated Yardley Cruz by TKO on Golden Boy DAZN Thursday Night Fights at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio California.
Reed dominated Cruz in tonight's contest. He had Cruz on his heels by using a good jab while working the body. Reed landed multiple combinations that backed Cruz up into the ropes the entire time the bout lasted. It was after Reed landed a straight left to the face of Cruz that made the referee jump in to stop the contest at 1:45 of the second-round.
Reed improves to (24-2, 13 KO's) while Cruz fall to ( 25-14, 15 KO's).

Baltimore, MD welterweight Malik Hawkins weighed in at 143.4 pounds in preparation for his bout against Andre Byrd, who weighed 143.9 pounds. This bout will be a eight-round main event on the Hard Hitting Promotions card tomorrow night at The Met in Philadelphia.
Also on this card will be Sulaiman Segawa of Silver Spring, MD who is facing Gadwin Rosa. Segawa 128.5 pounds, Rosa 129.6 pounds.

Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed of Waldorf, MD weighed in at 141 pounds in preparation for his six-round bout with Yardley Cruz of Las Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico tomorrow night April 25th at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA. Cruz tipped the scale at 142 pounds.
Reed (23-2, 12 KO's) looks to bounce back after a 10-round unanimous decision loss to Arnold Barboza, Jr. in March of 2018 at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA. Cruz (25-13, 15 KO's) is coming off a fourth-round TKO over Juan Valdez on March 28th in Guasave, Mexico.
