After a 45 minute conversation with Bobby "The Celtic Warrior" Gunn on the telephone tonight, it seems to me that he has thoughts of moving down to the light heavyweight division. I say this because he talked about his last fight with James "Lights Out" Toney down in Mississippi April 7, 2012. Gunn said "I had to literally constantly eat just so I can add on the pounds to fight at heavyweight". He also says that cruiserweight is actually a weight class that he walks around at and after a day of training he drops down to 187 lbs. On a regular day Gunn walks around at 190 lbs. At the weigh-ins Bobby Gunn weighed in at 210 lbs. 38 lbs less than Toney. So that means it was out of his norm to gain 20 lbs to move up in weight to fight James "Lights Out" Toney. If it wasn't for the injury to Bobby Gunns right hand the fight would have went to the score cards. His toughness isn't a question because Toney said that Gunn is a tough fighter that hits hard and he's very strong. Gunn looked very good inside the ring as a heavyweight, but after talking to him he said that's not the class he wants to be in. Bobby Gunn wants a tittle shot! If it's not at cruiserweight than the only other weight class I can think of is light heavyweight. Bobby hasn't officially said it but that's what I got out of the conversation. So all the title holders and top contenders in the light heavyweight class don't be shocked when Gunn calls you out one day.
