Corley's new name should be "The Spoiler"'. The 37 year old DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley is still very much alive in the continuous hunt for another title. He already put his name back on the map on January 21, 2012 by beating the much younger and up incoming star Gabriel Bracero. Bracero was using Corley's name to put another notch on his belt, but in the process Corley beat the young guy down and took his title belt from him. DeMarcus Corley is the current NABF Light Welterweight Champion and has his eyes on a much larger prize. He headed out of the United States for another much desired bout in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This is where is faced another rising contender Paul McCloskey 23-2 (12KO's). McCloskey pretty much had the same idea in mind as Gabriel Bracero. That was trying to use the Corley name to set himself up for a much larger bout for maybe the interim WBO Light Welterweight Title against Juan Manuel Marquez on July 14, 2012. McCloskey was the much favored fighter but Corley showed that he was there for business and put a halt to the future plans of McCloskey. The fight ended in the tenth round when referee Ian John-Lewis saw that McCloskey was hurt by a hard right hand from Corley. Now it looks as if DeMarcus Corley will be the one that will be facing Marquez for that WBO Title.
