The last time Harold Parker was inside the ring was back in 2002 and that was as an amateur boxer. The long set back was because of some personal matters he had to deal with on his own. When Parker got his self together he was home watching television and saw some of the same guys he competed with as an amateur now fighting as professionals (Devon Alexander and Gary Russell Jr). At that point he decided to make his way back to the gym and dedicate himself to fighting again. When Parker fought in the amateurs he was more that just good. He was at that time one of the best amateur fighters in the country. Parker's trainer Flip Johnson former professional fighter and 1978 Golden Gloves National Champion said Harold has showed him that he wants to fight and he works very hard in the gym. On May 12,2012 the 25 year old Parker will be making his professional debut against another debuting Marcus Best. Parker said it took 9 months to get back into fighting shape and he will perform well when the bell rings. http://www.keystone-boxing.com
