Light heavyweight Alexander Johnson was stopped in the 7th round by undefeated Artur Beterbiev of Montreal, Canada tonight at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL. The corner of Johnson threatened to stop the bout after Beterbiev's knocked Johnson down twice in the fifth round, but Johnson said he wanted to continue.
Johnson was knocked down two more times in the 7th round, and the referee stopped the bout at 1:38. Johnson is now 16-3, (7KO's) while Artur Beterbiev remains undefeated at 9-0, (9 KO's).
