Light heavyweight Thomas Williams of Laurel, MD dropped his opponent Humberto Savigne early in the first round, but went down later in the same round during the co-feature bout at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, MS. The bout was televised by Spike TV. Williams bounces back strong in the second round by sending Savigne to the canvas with a combination of punches. Savigne was given an eight count, but Williams jumped back on him with more multiple shots sending him into the ropes to cause the referee to put a stop to the contest at 1:48 in round two.
Thomas Williams gets the TKO victory and improves to 19-1,(13 KO's) while Savigne's record drops to 12-3, (9 KO's).
Super lightweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed of Waldorf, MD put on an outstanding performance against Rondale Hubbert of Minneapolis, MN. The bout took place on the undercard of Timothy Bradley vs Brandon Rios at the Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV. This win looked even better for Reed because Hubbert was a late replacement for this scheduled 8 round contest. Reed knew nothing about Hubbert and had no time to prepare for whatever Hubbert had to offer. The original opponent was supposed to be the 25-2-0, (13 KOs) Oscar “Raton” Cortes of Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico.
Throughout the entire bout Reed consistently landed the left hand to slowly break down Hubbert. In round five referee Kenny Bayless had to separate the fighters and Hubbert tried to be aggressive by rushing in on Reed. Reed responded by landing a hard right hook that sent Hubbert to the canvas. Reed's power continues to elevate in every fight. In round seven Reed showed that power once again when he landed a left hand, but this time he was able to put everything into the punch. That triggered referee Kenny Bayless to jump in and stop the fight.
Mike "Yes Indeed" Reed wins by TKO at 1:09 in round seven to improve his record to 17-0, (10 KO's) while Hubbert falls to 10-4-1, (6 KO's). In the year 2015 Reed is now 5-0, (4 KO's). The Reed bout makes it referee Kenny Bayless second consecutive nights to stop bouts of undefeated Beltway Boxers. On the previous night at the D in Las Vegas, NV Bayless had to stop the Antoine Douglas bout at 1:02 in the forth round giving Douglas a TKO victory.
