Gary Russell Jr Title Defense Set For May 20!



Featherweight World Champion Gary Russell Jr. Defends His Belt Against Top Challenger Oscar Escandon Saturday, May 20 From MGM National Harbor in Maryland & Live on SHOWTIME

The Maryland-native Russell Jr. (27-1, 16 KOs) and the WBC Interim Featherweight Champion Escandon (25-2, 17 KOs) will battle in one of boxing's most talented divisions that continues to deliver exciting action fight after fight. A lineup of exciting co-featured attractions will be announced next week.

"I'm a gladiator getting ready for a tough battle," said Russell Jr. "This is going to be a huge night for my family and I'm glad that the time is here. This will be the first time as pros that I get to fight on the same card as both of my little brothers, (unbeaten bantamweight) Gary Antonio and (2016 U.S. Olympian) Gary Antuanne, plus my brother Gary Allan will work all of our corners. We're excited to get in the ring and show the fans what we're capable of doing in the ring."

"I've had to wait for this opportunity to face Gary Russell Jr. and I'm going to take full advantage of it," said Escandon. "It's going to be a great fight and I know the fans are going to get their money's worth. I feel 100 percent healthy and now that the fight is here I am ready to knock him out."

Gregory Clark Victorious While Peters Gets The Draw In Bethlehem, PA!

Gregory Clark of Washington, DC lost his professional debut in November 2016, but regrouped with a split decision win over Patrick Rivera on February 11th on a Kings Promotions card in Fort Washington, MD. Tonight Clark defeated Devin McMaster by 4th round KO at the Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, PA.

Clark is now 2-1, 1KO while McMaster falls to 1-1.



Jordan Peters, also from Washington, DC was back in action after a long 4 year layoff. Peters was in a four round bout against Hector Bayanilla of Allentown, PA. This bout was a close contest. One judge scored it 39-37 for Bayanilla, but was overruled by the other two judges who scored the bout 38-38 a Draw. 

Both Peters and Bayanilla records are now 1-0-1.

Greg Cohen Promotions Along With Banner Promotions Bringing Boxing Inside The MGM National Habor On April 14th!

On Friday, April 14 live on SHOWTIME 10 p.m. ET from MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.




ShoBox will have a tripleheader that will feature undefeated former Russian amateur standout Dmitry Bivol (9-0, 7 KOs) defending his interim WBA Light Heavyweight title against Samuel Clarkson (19-3, 12 KOs) in the main event. In a tough co-feature matchup of undefeated welterweights, Juan Ruiz (18-0, 11 KOs) and Malik Hawkins (10-0, 7 KOs) will battle in an eight-round bout. Opening the telecast, super bantamweight prospect Glenn Dezurn (8-0, 6 KOs) is making his television debut against the unbeaten two-time national amateur champion Leroy Davila (5-0, 3 KOs) in the eight-round bout.



There will also be more local area fighters on the card. Undefeated prospects Justin Hurd (2-0, 1 KO) and Malik Jackson (2-0, 2 KOs) will also be featured in 4-round bouts.
