Tori Nelson Loses Double World Title Opportunity In Detroit, Michigan!

Christina Hammer of Dortmund, Germany won by unanimous decision to retain her WBC and WBO middleweight championship title against Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson of Ashburn, VA at the Masonic Temple in Detroit.
Nelson showed her toughness in a previous bout with Claressa Shields that took place in January of this year, but Hammer’s size and good use of a consistent jab dictated this fight. Hammer was able to put together three and four punch combinations while Nelson had to work hard to get close enough to land one shot. Coming into the fight Christina Hammer was categorized as being a runner inside the ring. Tonight it was clear that it was not running, but it was just good footwork and boxing technique that won this championship contest. All three judges scored the bout for Hammer with the scores of 100-90 and 99-91 twice.
Hammer remains perfect at (23-0, 10 KOs) while Tori Nelson is now (17-2-3, 2 KOs).
