In the main event of the Jeter Promotions card at the Event Center at Live! Casino Hotel in Hanover, MD, Stivens "Superman" Bujaj of New York City by way of Albania won an eight-round unanimous decision over Catonsville, MD cruiserweight Luther "Lights Out" Smith.
In the first couple of rounds Smith and Bujaj battled very evenly. Neither fighter had the edge as they landed good shots on each other. Bujaj was shaking off some ring rust as Smith looked to land the knockout punch early. In the third round things seemed to change for Bujaj as he started to land more punches to close out the round. In the fourth round Bujaj kept the momentum going and started to take control as Smith's punch output slowed down. Smith switched from his natural southpaw stance to conventional and was very effective when he did. For some reason he returned to the southpaw style and Bajaj took full advantage of it. Bajaj landed the scoring shots as Smith stayed defensive for the remainder of the eight-round contest. Judges David Braslow and John Gradowski scored the bout 78-74 while Brent Bovell saw the contest 77-75 all for Bajaj.
Bujaj's record remains impressive at (17-2-1, 11 KO's) while Smith falls to (12-5, 10 KO's).
