In the main event of a scheduled 10-round super featherweight contest Washington, DC's Jordan "ShortDog" White won by TKO over Joe Perez of San Diego, CA.

It was a good opening feel out round for White and Perez. Nothing exciting for the crowd until White landed a perfect overhand right that knocked Perez off balance causing his glove to touch the canvas. Referee David Braslow gave Perez the eight count as the bell sounded to end the round. In round two White maintained a easy pace by keeping his jab going to trick Perez into slacking off his defense. White came out in the third round using his jab and then followed it with a hard right hand to drop Perez to the canvas. Perez made it to his feet and finished the round but it came with a price. White was in full control of the fight as he stood in the center of the ring and just boxed Perez with the basics. White sent Perez down to the canvas with a two punch combination in round five. After being knocked down a couple of times Perez kept coming forward even with his lack of offense to fight off White. White opened a cut over the right eye of Perez causing referee David Braslow to call timeout so the ringside physician could look at the cut. Perez got the okay to continue and he finished round six. After going to his corner the fight was waived off after the sixth round was completed.

Jordan White improves to (12-1, 9 KO's) while Perez now has a record of (15-5-2,10 KO's)

In the co-feature Laurel, MD super middleweight Demond "D'Best At It" Nicholson defeates Victor "The Spartan" Darocha of Miami, FL by way of Sao Paolo, Brazil by eight-round unanimous decision.

Nicholson established himself early in the opening round by landing shots up and downstairs on Darocha. Darocha came out in the second round trying to make use of his jab but was easily countered by the right hand of Nicholson. Nicholson used round three to fight inside with Darocha. Both fighters spent most of the round head to head and in a clinch until referee Bill Clancy separated them. In round four Nicholson was landing the harder shots but Darocha was trying to do the same as they worked around the ring. In round five Nicholson started to sit down on his punches more and the power came with that change. Bodywork was the visual for round seven. Both fighters did an equal amount to slow each other down. In the eighth and final round it was Nicholson who dug a little deeper and finished the fight strong by landing numerous scoring punches.
All three judges scored the contest for Demond Nicholson 78-74 and 79-73 twice.

Nicholson improves to (24-4-1, 20 KO's) while Victor Darocha falls to (9-6-1, 6 KO's).

Germantown, MD Ebrima Jawara came up short when he lost by unanimous decision to Christian "Veneno" Otero of New York City in their six-round featherweight contest.

This contest was pretty evenly matched as far as skill set in the opening round. Both fighters showed their use of the jab to set up punches and defend themselves on the inside and outside. In round two both Jawara and Otero did well slipping each others punches with neither landing solid shots. Referee Kenny Chevalier did give Otero two warnings for low blows and told him that a point would be taken away if it happened again. In the third-round Otero had Jawara fighting backwards as he used his jab and moved inside to go to the body of Jawara. Otero did a great job of mixing up his punches to keep Jarawa on the defensive in round four. Otero was starting to turn up the pressure in round five but landed want referee Kenny Chevalier saw as another low blow causing a point to be taken from Otero. With a point being taken away Otero used a stalking technique to attack Jawara by landing overhand rights and punches to the body. Jawara did all he could to defend but Otero kept pressing forward as the fight ended. All three judges scored the contest for Otero 59-54 and 58-55 twice.

Ebrima Jawara falls to (4-2, 1 KO) while Christain Otero remains undefeated at (4-0, 2 KO's).

In a rematch but this time for the super middleweight American Boxing Federation Atlantic title, Baltimore, MD's Anthony Williams won a six-round unanimous decision over Ricardo Vasquez Becerril on Kinston, NC.

Williams opened up using his jab but not consistent enough to keep Becerril from getting inside to land a few body shots. Williams decided to exchange punches on the inside with Becerril but that worked in the shorter Becerril's favor with him landing some good body shots. Even when Williams wasn't using his jab he was able to land some good counter right hands when Becerril slowed his punch output down. In the fifth-round Williams was landing shots that Becerril gave a response that looked to have him wobbled but he returned with his own shots that backed Williams into a corner. Williams closed the final round by deciding to use his jab to set up some right hands. Becerril spent most of that round using defense. All three judges saw the contest for Williams with the scores of 60-57 and 59-55 twice.

Williams improves to (5-1, 2 KO's) while Ricardo Becerril is now 2-10-1, 2 KO's).

With the vacant American Boxing Federation Atlantic Featherweight title on the line Brandon "The Hitter" Chambers of Atlanta, GA by way of Gwynn Oak, MD battled Blake Quintana of Nebraska for a split decision victory.

The first-round started slow with the fighters trying to find their range. Things got more action packed as they stood in the center of the ring exchanging shots in round two. Quintana added to his punching power and started throwing some shots that Chambers took well. Chambers responded with his own power shots to back up Quintana. As the rounds mounted up the punches from each fighter did as well. Hard shots continued to fly from each fighter as they did well absorbing the impact. The fighters fought a hard fight for the fans inside of The Hall at  the Live! Casino and Hotel. The contest looked to be a difficult bout for the judges to score. Judge Paul Wallace scored it 58-56 for Quintana while Judges David Braslow and Eric Irizarry scored 58-56 for Chambers.

Chambers record improves to (6-0-1, 3 KO's) while Ricardo Quintana suffers his first defeat and now is (4-1, 1 KO).

I a four-round super bantamweight contest Ernest Hall of Baltimore, MD. defeated Jaqeem Hutcherso of Forestville, MD by majority decision.

In the opening round of this scheduled 4-round contest the fighters looked to be going for an early knockout. It was fast and hard punches coming from each fighter from the sound of the bell. In round two Hutcherson started to press forward more to get inside, but Hall landed some three punch combinations to counter. Hall continued to land shots as Hutcherson returned with a couple of his own to show he was still coming. To close the bout Hall looked to be the fighter who landed the scoring punches. According to Judge Paul Wallace he saw the contest a draw at 38-38 while Judges Davis Braslow and Don Risher scored it the same with the score of 39-39 for Hall.

Ernest Hall improves his record to (4-1, 1 KO) while Jaqeem Hutcherson is now (2-1).
*******************************************************

Baltimore, MD super welterweight "Bazooka" Joe Veazey defeated Ryan Wilson of South Carolina by TKO.

Slow start to this bout between Veazey Wilson. Both fighters were getting tangled up from trying to land inside body shots. Veazey changed things up quickly in the second round when he landed a straight right hand that dropped Wilson for an eight count. Wilson survived the round after Veazey didn't capitalize off of the knockdown. Wilson recovered well in round three by landing some good shots of his own. Veazey made things exciting in the final round when he landed a perfect overhand right that stopped Wilson in his tracks. Referee Kenny Chevalier jumped in quickly to stop the contest at 1:29 of round four.

Joe Veazey improves to (5-0, 4 KO"s) while Wilson is now (104-3, 1 KO).

After a successful pro debut Accokeek, MD junior featherweight Chamar Flowers lost by majority decision to Baltimore's Antonio Dunton-El, Jr..

The opening round was action packed as both fighters spent most of the time exchanging some great shots. Dunton was pressing the action a little more than Flowers by landing combinations while Flowers tried to establish his jab. In rounds two and three the aggressiveness of Dunton stayed the same, Flowers punches started to have more power as he became more aggressive. In the final round Flowers was being the second man to the punch. Dunton jabbed to the head and body while Flowers tried to counter. In the last ten seconds of the final round both fighters went blow for blow. One judge saw the contest a draw 38-38, but was overruled with one judge having it 39-37 and the other 40-36 for Dunton.

Gervonta Davis and Rolando Romero Press Conference Quotes

Gervonta “Tank” Davis and unbeaten lightweight contender Rolando “Rolly” Romero faced off Thursday after their press conference to preview their upcoming showdown for Davis’ WBA Lightweight Championship that will take place live on SHOWTIME PPV Sunday, December 5 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on a Premier Boxing Champions event.

GERVONTA DAVIS

“I’m thankful to be here to give the fans another great fight. This is what we do. ‘Rolly’ is just here to talk. He’s trying to talk his way into winning, but he’s scared. I’m coming to fight."

“They only talk about his power, but this is boxing, and his skills are not up to par with mine. He can’t even talk about energy because everyone knows I’m bringing it. You can shoot bullets, but how will you defend yourself when the shots are fired back?"

“He’s been talking for a long time. He’s trying to sell a fight, but I’m going to show him that he’s a chump on December 5. I’m not here to talk, and I’m here to fight. I don’t take this personally. To me, this isn’t beef, and this is business."

“I was on a mission when I fought Jose Pedraza for the title. I didn’t do the trash-talking. I went in there and proved that I’m a top guy. This guy is just here to talk. I’m going to do the talking in the ring on December 5."

“His trainer isn’t working on anything but power, and they aren’t working on any skills. He hasn’t fought anybody like me, and he’s going to see the difference."

“I’ve never once turned down any fight. I’m not scared of anybody. I’m going to fight everybody. I’ll fight a heavyweight. This is nothing to me, and I’ve survived a lot of stuff."

“He’s supposed to come here and sell the fight. I’m supposed to win, and I’d instead punish him for 12 rounds than knock him out quick. Part of me wants to humble him, but the most important thing to do is go out there and get the job done."

“This fight is for the fans. The fans are winning on December 5. Make sure you come out and support. I’m thankful to be in this position, and it’s all about my team and those people who have put me in a great position.”
*****************************************************************

ROLANDO ROMERO

“Everyone’s going to see December 5; I’m going to knock Gervonta the f*** out. I hope you hear that."

“I’ve been calling ‘Tank’ out since 2017. We were supposed to spar in 2018, and he didn’t show up to the gym. He did that twice because he knew he was getting beat. December 5, you’re getting knocked out."

“This is just who I am. This is how I was born. I came into this sport at 17-years-old, and I’ve made the most out of what I’ve done. Everybody watch me knock him out on December 5."

“He’s got such a big head, and it’s going to be hard to miss it. He gets touched up by every opponent he faces, Leo Santa Cruz beat him up, and Barrios got to him too."

“He wants to run out of the ring whenever he gets hit. It happens in sparring and the amateurs. I was the one who had to force this fight because I’ve seen for years that he’s a chump. He’s made a career out of beating up 126-pounders."

“He doesn’t know half the stuff that I’ve seen and been through. I’m here to knock him out in the ring. He’s arrogant and tries to act like he’s tough, but I’m knocking him out."

“Manny Pacquiao has an awkward style too, and look at everything he’s accomplished. Just because I fight differently, does that mean I don’t have skills? I have my skills, and they’ve gotten me this far."

“I’m not going into the ring angry, and I’m just focused.”
******************************************************************

FLOYD MAYWEATHER

“These are two great fighters. And when I say great, I mean that every time they go out there, they produce. ‘Tank’ is a young kid from Baltimore who had a dream. He’s been through a lot, and he fought his way to the top. You have to commend him for that. No matter what anyone says, he earned his stripes."

“I believe ‘Tank’ is one of the best fighters in the world. ‘Rolly’ says he wants to fight the best. Come December 5, and it’s going to be a hell of a fight."

“’Rolly’ is tricky. He’ll fight anybody, and that eagerness makes this an intriguing matchup. ‘Rolly’ wants to prove he’s the best, and he’s also a hell of a puncher. Every time we presented an opponent to him, he’s accepted every one of them."

“’Tank’ is doing record-breaking numbers. I always told him it would come in due time. I told him that the same way I sell out arenas, you’re going to do the same thing one day. He had patience, and that’s what we’re doing."

“These guys are the future of boxing. I don’t see this fight going the distance. Two undefeated knockout artists. Two champions. December 5, I’ll see everyone there.”
******************************************************************

CALVIN FORD

“I hope you keep up this talking ‘Rolly.’ We’ll see who’s still going to be talking at the end of the night on December 5."

“Romero has an awkward style, but the beauty of having two coaches with ‘Tank’ is that there’s nothing we aren’t ready for."

“Having Barry Hunter be a part of the camp has helped calm ‘Tank’ down in many ways. I think everyone will see the beauty of us working together in this fight."

“I don’t train ‘Tank’ for knockouts, and I train him to go the distance. He can get you from round 1 to 12. So you better stay sharp.”
******************************************************************

BARRY HUNTER

“Everyone knows what we’re coming to do, and I have mad respect for the other side. Bring your A-game, because we’re going to bring ours."

“We’re born for stuff like this right here. As everyone said, there’s no way this fight goes the distance."

“Everybody is working hard to be at their best because we don’t want any excuses after it’s over with. I have faith in Gervonta, and I know what he’s going to do.”
*****************************************************************

BULLET CROMWELL

“I know what everybody is saying about who the champ is coming into this, but the champ wasn’t born a champ, and he had to rise too. Just like a young lion, ‘Rolly’ is ready to rise."

“I’m an L.A. guy. When we come back here, we’re fighting for a legacy, and it’s not just a belt and money."

“I told ‘Rolly’ that Gervonta Davis is standing in the way of changing your family and your legacy. We got a job to do."

“I don’t care about pure boxing or any style. I took karate, street-fighting, and boxing, and I put it all together. Combined with a puncher with ‘Rolly’s power and with his grind and grit, it’s a perfect match."

“I have a lot of respect for ‘Tank’ and his team. He’s a great fighter, but Rolly is next up, and he’s going to be the new WBA champion on December 5.”
*****************************************************************

LEONARD ELLERBE

“We’re excited to bring this massive event to Los Angeles at STAPLES Center on Sunday, December 5. This is a tremendous matchup, and the fans should be excited. There’s a lot of buzz already, and tickets are going fast."

“These fighters genuinely despise each other, and you rarely see that in boxing. In 2019, Floyd and I were at the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia, and we were talking, and all of a sudden, Davis and Romero were ready to go at it at ringside. Floyd told them that they could do it in the ring, and now here we are."

“’ Tank’ is without a doubt the most exciting fighter in the world, and he’s also one of the biggest attractions and one of the best fighters in the world. ‘Rolly’ has let it be known that he’s been ‘trolling’ ‘Tank,’ and I’m sure on December 5, ‘Tank’ will be doing whatever he can to shut ‘Rolly’ up."

“’ Rolly’ is a very explosive fighter, and anytime he steps into the ring, he’s looking to get his opponent out of there. He never lacks confidence, and he’s confident that on December 5, he’s getting the job done."

“With two tremendous power punchers like this, there’s no way this fight doesn’t end in a knockout. Tune on December 5 and expect someone to get knocked out.”
******************************************************************

STEPHEN ESPINOZA

“For SHOWTIME Sports, 2021 has been one of the most vital years on record. We have delivered a total of 42 events, half of which ended in knockouts. On December 5, I expect this won’t go the distance, either, with these two hard hitters."

“Week after week, year after year, SHOWTIME continues to be the standard of this sport. No one in combat sports is putting on better or more meaningful fights than us."

“As we enter Gervonta’s 11th fight with SHOWTIME, he has never been down, and he has continued to shine. When other fighters are talking, ‘Tank’ is fighting and selling out arenas."

“’Rolly’ has also never been downed as a pro. He is a hard hitter and is one of the best talents in boxing, and he will be the first to tell you.”

In the main-event of the CyNation Sports card at the Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD, Dominique Crowder of Baltimore, MD remains undefeated with a unanimous decision win over Rob Deziel of Seattle, WA.  In this eight-round super bantamweight contest Crowder showed is boxing skills well by using the ring to move while landing his jab, body shots as well as putting together some good combinations. From the opening bell Crowder took control of the fight. Deziel was using a high guard to defend himself from the hooks coming from both sides. Deziel was definitely there to fight but he was clearly out boxed. All three judges scored the contest the same at 80-72. Crowder is now (10-0, 6 KO's) while Rob Deziel falls to (14-8, 4 KO's).

In the co-feature Upper Marlboro MD's Rianna Rios won by majority decision over Unique Harris of Philadelphia, PA.

Rianna Rios performance looked to be dominating in all four rounds of this bantamweight contest. Rios controlled the ring and landed the cleaner shots throughout. Rios did some good bodywork causing Harris to use more defense and less offensive punching. Rios continued to press Harris in each round and never had any trouble doing so. Judge John Gradowski saw the bout even at 38-38 but was overruled by judges Dave Braslow and Paul Wallace, both scoring it 40-36.  Rios improves to (2-0) while Unique Harris falls to (1-4-1).

******************************************************************

The first bout on this CyNation Sports card was a scheduled four-round contest that featured two bantamweight fighters making their professional debut. Chris Glenn of Hagerstown, MD defeated Kameron Ricks-Holmes of Temple Hills, MD by majority decision. In the opening round both fighters tried to find their distance. A few shots were landed by both fighters but nothing to say the were in control. The second and third rounds were a little more active. Rick-Holmes landed more of the good shots as Glenn tried to counter punch. The fighters entertained the crowd by letting their hands go until the final bell. Judge Dave Braslow scored the contest 38-38 but was overruled by Don Risher 39-37 and John Gradowski 40-36.

Victor Williams of Washington, DC defeated Angelo Thompson of Irvington, NJ by TKO in their Jr. middleweight bout. Williams established himself early by landing head and body shots to send Thompson down for the eight count in the first-round. It was the same in the second-round as Williams kept coming forward to throw more hard shots as he landed a left to the body of Thompson that dropped him again in the second-round. After the eight count Williams jumped on Thompson again, but referee Dave Braslow saw he in trouble waved the contest off at 1:36 of round two. Williams keeps a perfect record of (3-0, 3 KO's) while Angelo Thompson falls to (0-3).

Veshawn Champion of Dayton, Ohio defeated Rashad Kilpatrick of Waldorf, MD by TKO. Champion and Kilpatrick went plow for plow in the first-round of their Jr. middleweight match-up. The punches were much of the same from both fighters in round two. Kilpatrick backed Champion up into the corner and Champion returned the favor as he backed Kilpatrick against the ropes with hard shots as the round ended. Round three is when Champion added more power to his shots. Those shots started to make a difference. Kilpatrick looked to be hurt as he tried to move around the ring. The ringside physicians noticed Kilpatrick was in trouble and requested that referee Kenny Chavalier stopped the bout at 2:16 of round three. Veshawn Champion improves his record to (2-0, 1 KO) while Rashad Kilpatrick suffers his first defeat and is now (5-1, 2 KO's).
