D.C. Native Reed Excited To Be Coming Home!

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 11) - Keystone Boxing, promoters Ross and Gene Molovinsky, in association with Top Rank, Inc. introduce the first professional boxing event at the historic 87-year-old Sphinx Club in Washington, D.C. on Saturday March 14 at 8:00pm.
The 58th professional show by Keystone Boxing features nine exciting matches with some of the region's best talent on display.

Headlining the night will be Top Rank Inc.'s undefeated Super Lightweight prospect, Mike "Yes Indeed" Reed (12-0, 6 KOs) as he takes on veteran New Englander, Eddie Soto (12-7, 4 KOs) in an eight-round bout.

When Top Rank Inc. signed the talented southpaw, the companies Vice President, Carl Moretti let it be known just how special Reed is.

"He has a solid amateur background and his hand speed travels faster than bad news," said Moretti.
Reed returns to the friendly confines of Washington, D.C. after successfully winning fights on the road in Atlantic City and Nebraska in 2014.

“After being on the road for the last three fights, I am truly excited to come back home as the main event on another Keystone Boxing card,” said Reed.

Reed know just how pivotal this fight will be for the area’s boxing landscape. “Having a Top Rank fighter headline in D.C. is a good sign of things to come. I can’t wait to show Top Rank how great the boxing scene is in the DMV.”


In the co-main event, "Monster" Marq Johns (5-0-1, 4 KOs) of Fort Washington, Md. takes on Carolina, Puerto Rico native Bryan Perez-Nevarez (2-1, 1 KO) in a six-round bout.

Johns is coming of an exciting victory over fellow Boricua Jaxel Marrero in January and looks to get back to his knockout ways.





Also featured on the talent-rich card will be Hyattsville, Md. native and electric 20-year-old lightweight prospect Patrick Harris (4-0, 3 KO's) of the Headbangers Boxing Gym.  Harris, the 2013 141-pound U.S. National Champion and nephew to Lamont & Anthony Peterson, with face Carlos Acevedo of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico (0-2) in a 4-round lightweight bout.






Slick 19-year-old southpaw and Forestville, Md. native, Mykal "The Professor" Fox (5-0, 1 KO) who takes on late substitute Alfred Hall (3-7-2, 2 KO's) of Jackson, Mich. in a six-round junior welterweight contest.

 Standing at an imposing 6’3½”, Fox--who is the younger brother of DiBella Entertainment's Super Welterweight prospect, Alantez "SlyAza" Fox--looks to continue his families winning ways and remain undefeated against the 5'11" Hall. It will be Fox's first career bout set at the 140-pound limit.

Romanian-born featherweight prospect Alexandru Marin (5-0, 4 KO's) returns to the ring for the first time in 2015 for his first scheduled 6-rounder against Arturo Santiago (7-10-1, 4 KO's) of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.  Marin had a decorated amateur career, being a 2-time Romanian National Champion and Bronze medalist in the Junior Olympics and a reported record of 175-10.

He takes a step up in class against the 28-year-old Santiago.  In Santiago'slast eight bouts, although all losses, he faced opposition with a cumulative record of 105-3.



The resurgence of District Heights, Md. featherweight, Renaldo “Misunderstood” Gaines (5-2, 1 KO), continues as he takes on brawler Marquis Pierce of Phillipsburg, NJ (1-4, 0 KO) in a four-round bout.











Albanian-born cruiserweight Albi “The Golden Goat” Sadikaj (2-0, 2 KOs) of Fort Washington, Md. will face debuting 26-yr-old Bayamon, Puerto Rico native Jose Alexis Rivera in a four-round bout.

The heavy-handed Sadikaj is coming off of an 18-month layoff, but looks to get his career on track and make his mark in 2015.









Lusby, Md. lightweight Chris "The Rock" Warden will make his long-anticipated professional debut against Marshawn Hughes of South Bend , Ind. in a four-round bout. Warden, who stands at 5'4", has an extensive youth amateur resume which includes national accolades, but he has been inactive for the last five years.  He will enter the professional ranks opposite the 20-year old Hughes, who has been a very active fighter in the world of professional MMA.  Warden will be led into the ring by long-time stable mate Dusty Hernandez-Harrison and trainer Buddy Harrison, who will work his corner in the bout.



Opening up the night will be a special attraction bout featuring 2012 United States heavyweight Olympic alternate Joseph "Mack " Williams (3-0, 3 KO's)of Rockaway, N.Y.  Williams, also a former USA boxing national bronze medalist, will face Vega Baja, Puerto Rico's Jorge Alvarez in a 4-round bout set at a catchweight of 185 lbs.
