Mikey Garcia And Robert Easter Jr. Weights Are Made For Lightweight Unification Fight!




WBC champion Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs) and IBF champion Robert Easter Jr. (21-0, 14 KOs) made weight earlier today for their lightweight unification fight on Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Garcia weighed in at 135 pounds while Easter Jr. weighed in a half pound less at 134 ½ pounds. During the face off, the 5’11” Easter Jr. had some words to say to the 5’6” Mikey Garcia.

“I told Mikey there ain’t no more talking. I’m coming in shape. It’s going to be an exciting fight for all the fans that are here from my side and from his side. We’re just ready to fight and put on a great performance for LA.

“This fight is champion vs. champion. It’s going to determine who’s the best, for real. Tomorrow is going to be the best of the best and you’re going to see the best out of me.”

Also weighing in were Cuban heavyweight slugger Luis "The Real King Kong" Ortiz, 241 pounds and former title challenger Razvan Cojanu, 269 pounds who will meet in a 10-round bout plus unbeaten super lightweight contender Mario "El Azteca" Barrios 141.5 pounds and hard-hitting Jose Roman 142 pounds as they prepare for a 10-round showdown.














The three-fight SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING card will start it's telecast at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
