Results From The NoXcuse Boxing Card At Rosecroft Raceway!

On Saturday night in front of a packed house inside Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD, NoXcuse Promotions put on a four bout action packed card.



In the main-event Rianna Rios of Upper Marlboro, MD got her first TKO victory over Vera Kubickova of Tabor, Czech Republic.


In this scheduled six-round contest it was all Rianna Rios. Rios applied pressure from the start of the opening round by coming forward landing hard body shots that backed Kubickova up throughout the contest. Kubickova made it through the first-round, but Rios kept coming forward punching harder and more often. Kubickova started to show signs that she was hurt, while Rios kept throwing harder shot. Kubickova finally gave in and was dropped from shots to the head and body her body. Referee Brent Bovell stopped the bout at 1:50 of the second-round.

Rios improves to 4-0, 1 KO while Kubickova falls to 0-3.

Francois Scarboro Jr. of Cheverly, MD professional debut starts with a second-round TKO over Jerryd Hernandez Marysville, Kansas.

Scarboro and Hernandez exchanged some good shots in the early part of the first-round, but it was Scarboro who made the adjustments he needed to take over. In the second-round Scarboro started pressing forward to land the harder shot and good counter punches. Hernandez tried to develop some offense but Scarboro pressured him to become defensive. Scarboro's power started to show as he backed Hernandez into the corner and finally making him take a knee. Referee Kenny Chevalier saw Hernandez was overpowered and stopped the contest at 2:50 of round two.

Scarboro starts his career 1-0, 1 KO while Hernandez falls to 0-3.

DWayne Holmes Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD  defeated Lavelle Barnes of Capitol Heights, MD by second-round TKO. 

Holmes displayed a dominating performance as he used a solid game plan by using his jab to land combinations that sent Barnes to the canvas in the first-round. Holmes continued putting on pressure that Barnes couldn't defend as the third-round ended. The corner of Barnes saw enough and asked referee David Braslow to stop the contest. So the bout goes into the record book as a third-round TKO at 3:00 minutes. 

Holmes improves to 2-0, 2 KO's while Barnes starts his career off at 0-1. 




Washington, DC native Deonte Washington won by first-round TKO over Khari Fields of Berwick, PA

Washington out worked Fields from the start of the round by landing shots that resulted in an early knockdown. Fields received an eight count but Washington jumped back on him causing referee Kenny Chevalier finishing to waive the contest off at 1:00 of the first-round. 

Washington improves his record to 2-0, 2 KO's, while Fields is still looking for his first victory.
