NABA USA CHAMPIONSHIP GOES TO TONY "MO BETTER" JETER!

November 15th was the day that the Beltway Boxing area was waiting for! It took a little over two years to make this rematch happen. On October 27, 2012 Jeter fought the best fight of his career. Jeter won a 10-round split decision over the more highly-regarded Jimmy Lange.
Jeter finished 2012 with titles in the WBC and listed in the top 15 ranking in both the USBA and NABA. He closed out 2012 by being awarded the Beltway Boxing Boxer Of The Year Award. The rematch was a much more competitive bout from both fighters. Lange moved much better and was able to establish his jab to keep Jeter off of him a little better than the first match-up. When Jeter was able to get inside he did land many uppercuts and body shots.
Jeters' effectiveness inside kept Lange off balance, and Jeter was able to finish the final round with a three punch combination.  Tony Jeter won a 10-round majority decision to win the vacant NABA USA Middleweight title. Judge Joe Cooper saw the bout a draw with a score of 95-95. Cooper was overruled by Brian Costello scoring it 97-93 and Mark D'Atillio who saw the bout 99-91 for Jeter.
Jeter is now 18-4-1, (12 KO's) and Lange falls to 38-6-2, 25 KO's.
