GARY ANTUANNE RUSSELL RECORD REMAINS PERFECT 17 FIGHTS 17 KO'S

On Saturday night, August 12th inside The Theater at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, super lightweight Gary Antuanne Russell of Capitol Heights, Maryland defeated Kent Cruz by knockout in the first-round of a scheduled 10-round contest. 

Russell made every punch count when he landed hard shots to the head and body of Cruz. Cruz attempted to get the attention of the referee to acknowledge an apparent headbutt, but Russell landed a left to the head and a right hand to the body that sent Cruz to the canvas. Cruz received an eight count and continued to fight. Russell scored a second knockdown when he landed a left uppercut to the body and Cruz couldn't beat the ten count at 2:39 of the first-round. 

Russell improves to (17-0, 17 KO's) while Cruz falls to (16-1-3, 10 KO's).
