Travon Marshall Suffered First Defeat In Front Of Hometown Crowd

Gabriel Maestre scored a second-round TKO over Travon Marshall of Capitol Heights, Maryland inside The Theater at MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino in Oxon Hill, MD on Saturday, August 12. The welterweight contest was the opening bout of a three-fight telecast, topped by Emmanuel Rodriguez vs Melvin Lopez live on Showtime.

The 36-year-old two-time Olympian Gabriel Maestre of Barcelona, Venezuela landed a right hand to send Marshall to the canvas midway into the second-round. Marshall made it to his feet for an eight count to continue the round. Maestre went back at Marshall with a flurry of punches to get the fight stopped at 2:06 into the second round.

Gabriel Maestre improves to (6-0-1, 5 KO's) while Travon Marshall falls to (8-1, 7 KO's).
